Default What Have We done To Ourselves?

Essentially what makes humans special is their ability to communicate with the spoken word, written word or with optics. Today more than ever before in the history of mankind we can communicate faster and have acquired more information in one day than past generations could in their lifetimes. However there is one troubling spot in this paradise.

Given today's mores and the 24/7 opportunity to broadcast information from anywhere by anyone we have discovered the dismal fact that most of it is either not true, half truths, pure fiction or worse yet concealed, hidden ,ignored. Even when we fact check one wonders who fact checks the fact checkers.

What have we done to ourselves?

bonny I agree. what I intended was general discussion deconstructing the cause(s) of why we no longer can communicate, with the expressed purpose of attempting to get back to honest, fair, objective and unbiased communication. Because if we do not we will continue to suffer in terms of lack of trust of our leaders and reaching solutions to this nation's problems.

By word and deed too many people today, only communicate divisiveness and highly charged and unnecessary emotional responses....mimicking the Housewives of...or Kardashian Khaos. Even so called professional journalist have become too argumentative. Why are so many people so angry????

Perhaps a beginning is to address what we as people can agree upon and then go there????

I composed this thread because we keep repeating the same topics. Perhaps it was not well thought out?

As we grow older we are more objective and form our own opinions. like the old saying the " BB gun will put you eye out" however true, if you point it at your eye and pull the trigger, but most can come to conclusion that not smart thing to do. I use to be the average trusting person. In this day and age not so much.

Default Food for thought

There are a lot of reasons people are angry. The world has changed....not for the better. Parents are no longer able to raise their children, as they have to work not one, not two but maybe even three jobs to support their families. The price of everything has skyrocketed making it virtually impossible to have any "fun money" or to take a vacation. We no longer have healthcare that is dependable because for some, trying to get into a competent Doctor is next to impossible and the co pay is so high that you would be in debt for years trying to pay it off. We can no longer get prescriptions that are prescribed to us because insurance won't pay for it. Veterans wait so long to see a Dr. That they either die or commit suicide. You make a phone call to a Busness and you cannot possibly speak to a human...pressing numbers is your only choice. When you go to an emergency room for treatment you have to wait so many hours that you figure you may as well go home and suffer or die there. We have no leadership in our country any more. Crime is at an all time high and judges release the criminals faster than the police can complete the paperwork. I could go on and on about why I see that people are angry but you get the idea. Now all of the above does not necessarily apply to everyone but it's sure applies to many. People are stressed and fed up. This is just my opinion. There's no need to debate me or tell me I'm wrong....it's just my opinion for what it's worth.

you have it all wrong the truth gets out faster
the dismal fact IS that 5% cannot tell the rest how this country is going...and I compare it to this.. Israel ignored the Palestinian problem only for so long..and now look at the middle east..every country in revolution..so it is no wonder that anyone in a nice vehicle will not want to break down in any REAL city in this country on Saturday night at 4 am if you are a women? Just like Israel don't be caught alone or the Hezbollah will get you..you can only ignore what is someone's else nightmare and reality so long.

my friend was at a gas station, approached by someone asking can I use your phone? He let them use it and they ran off with it!

I don't like being one of the people who has carefully sacrificed and saved while others threw away their money just to be looked down on. I don't own a smart phone.

Gloom and doom mentalities have been recorded from ancient times on. I see a great America. Some growth problems, sure. But the enthusiasm and joy of living in these times is quite evident and not just in the squares here. Recently I have visited Boston, Chicago, and Dallas. These cities are vibrant, and the younger population has rolled with the changes. You know, sometimes we just have to get out and experience things for ourselves.

With regards to morality the country appears to be circling the drain.
