Good investment. Will make the batteries last longer. I've used one for several years and wouldn't have a battery cart without one. If you have any basic mechanical ability, it's an easy install. If using someone else, I use battery boys. Brads great to work with and knowledgeable.

My charger automatically checks the battery so I do not need a minder. I just leave the charger plugged into the cart. Check to see if yours does the same.

Battery Boys came to our house to install a Battery Minder that we bought from them. We were away for 6 weeks over the summer - no problem, and we are able to go long periods between major charges. Highly recommend a Battery Minder (and Battery Boys).

My understanding is the battery minder is made for "desulfating batteries" and should be used when one is away for a goodly period of time.
It is a trickle charge so one must not be fooled to think one's battery doesn't need a regular charge. My computer chip turns off the heavy duty charge automatically so the battery is never overcharged. Some people may tell you that a heavy duty charge will fry your batteries. Not so, as long as you computer chip is working properly. I was told by the person who installed my battery minder in my garage that one could use the battery minder if one drove less than 15 miles a day. I have found if one blindly follows this rule for several days, (two or more), the power in the batteries work but it really needs a heavy duty charge. I haven't gotten stuck in three years due to a dead battery. A flat tire but not a dead battery. ![]()

Hi joe will catch up with you soon. But what about this bsttery minder batery Boys
wants $250 for it. Is it worth it? We are gone for 5 months at a time. Last april when we left the cart ran great. When I returned in October the bateries were gone. Do you recommend paying the $250. This of course is my wifes cart. I use gas

I have been gone that long and returned to a cart that was ready to go. However, to be safe, I just go for a few miles the first time, then give cart a full charge afterwards.

I bought mine from Jerry 352.205.0092. He came to my house and installed the battery minder. I can't remember what I paid for it, as that was over 3 years ago. I believe he is affiliated with Frank Sta at Sta-Rite Carts. 352.326.3100
