Default Mira Mesa Executive Golf Course Renovation

Recently, The Amenity Authority Committee (AAC) approved the renovation of Mira Mesa executive golf course. The renovation will include new greens, new tees, new fairways, improved bunkers, landscape enhancements and other modifications. The renovations will be from May to October, and the course is expected to open in late fall. These dates may change, though. For more information and updates, visit the

There are several great executive courses that need renovation.

I thought they did a complete renovation of Mira Mesa just a few years ago. It was closed for nearly a year.

Just played it this week and boy does Mira Mesa need a do-over. Tee boxes only dirt and greens have quite a variety of grasses on them. The 2 par 4's fairways need help as well so it is good to see this renovation coming soon.

Hope they expand greens. This will help tremendously. 1st green is tiny and there is too much wear and tear on it due to it's size.

Sounds like a much more extensive rehab than has been done on other Executive courses. Usually tees and greens only, with some additional sand in the traps and overseeding the fairways.

It’s close to our home and one of my favorite Executives. The course doesn’t have room for many changes, just an upgrade of the existing layout. We are looking forward to playing the course post improvements, and will be playing it this evening for probably the last time before it’s shut down.

Default Mira Mesa-played it for first time

Played Mira Mesa for first time this week, first five holes pretty routine but 6,7,8 and 9 are pretty picturesque

Not a complainer. He just stated his opinion and agree with his opinion. I would not bring any guest to many of the courses in TV. Agree writer did not show objective information. We played De La Vista on 4/24. I did not measure amount of the dirt/weeds but would estimate that 20% of the tee boxes had grass.

They did and they did not make any very necessary changes. Several of the greens are very poorly designed and should be redone. About 25% of the first and third greens are unplayable. The ninth green will not hold a perfectly hit shot, especially from the back tee. The second and sixth holes are almost dogleg par threes.

All that happened during the last renovation was that they regrassed the tees and greens and they were bare and full of weeds within a few months.

I don't understand all of this renovating golf courses every few years. I've played hundreds of golf courses in my life and can't recall any where they are regrassed every few years. It seems to me that if the tees and greens are constructed properly to begin with, this wouldn't be necessary.

They just redid Sweetgum, one of my favorites, but the tee boxes didn't get any attention.
