We had the same problem in the Lantana. The best solution, we were told, was to string ethernet cable from the front bedroom modem to the living room. But, as there is little to no space above the Lantana front bedroom ceiling and the roof, our resident handyman/electrician just didn't want to do it. Our solution was to install an inexpensive Motorola modem and a separate, more powerful, router in place of the Comcast gateway (modem/router combined). We set the new Asus router atop a tall piece of furniture in the front bedroom/office.
Our Roku device has never been happy with the strength of the connection, as it varies from poor to good but, on the other hand, it hasn't failed to deliver a sufficient signal to watch whatever Roku channel we have chosen for the last four years. |

You can simply buy WiFi boosters at Amazon that you plug into a wall socket in the area or areas where the signal is weak. Not expensive, and always worked well for me. Your WiFi will appear on an extension (EXT) channel with the same security password as the main unit.

Consider a mesh Wi-Fi system. I have had the eero for several years and have been very pleased with the coverage.

In Virginia I had a horrible time with WIFI. Tried moving router, adding access point, power-line adapters, etc. Bought a eero mesh 3pack and instantly had great connectivity.

We have a stretched Gardenia and found that moving the router/ modem as close as possible to the center of the house solved all the problems with signal strength.

Exactly. We keep ours under the TV in the living room and it reaches everywhere, even the garage...

Modern routers should cover a typical house no matter if in the front, back, or middle. If the router is from your internet provider, they may replace it (free) as being defective. You could also try to move it to a high shelf or on top of something higher in the room where it is now. Or relocate it to the middle of the house. Perhaps the problem is the device trying to connect to the router? For reference, I can connect from across the street, or a few houses away.

EEro is best. Most modem / router combos they supply need a router extention.

I have a TP-Link WiFi 6 AX3000 Smart WiFi Router (Archer AX50) – 802.11ax Router, Gigabit Router, Dual Band, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, Parental Controls and get great reception everywhere including on my lanai. The router is in the middle bedroom of the lantana with 3 Roku locations. I did have an extender but found I didn’t need it. Most modern high end routers should give you great coverage.

Extenders are not the same as a Mesh router. That is what you need.
