I've seen these illuminated stop signs only at one four way stop intersection. It is located in a village close to Spanish Springs. I think the signs are at the Del Mar intersection. This is probably a dangerous intersection and I thought that is why the lights have been added to these stop signs. Are there any more of these illuminated signs in The Villages? I think they are a great idea.

Blink, flash, 20 colors…Didn’t make 2 cars and a golf cart from just blowing right through

Del Mar and Rio Grande, very bad intersection, have had a few close calls, especially from snowbirds that were not familiar with change.

I definitely like that sparkly stop sign. I drive down that area once or twice a week.

Stop sign has always been there just not with light, so how were snowbirds not familiar with change..because it lights up

The snowbirds are staying very late this year, especially the ones with Florida plates

It is a very dangerous intersection. They should put one at the intersection at Sonny's BBQ and TooJays in Sumter Landing. People run the those signs or get a case of amnesia when it comes to who goes next. Sad to have to add a feature to a traffic sign to get someone to focus.

I use that intersection frequently. The lights have done nothing to stop people from running them. I stopped one day only to watch a white car blow thru on Rio Grande. Never even slowed down.

They need to add cameras to the stop signs at Rio Grand and Del Mar, even with the new signs, car are running the stop signs, then ticket the CAR (aka the owner of the car).

Any dangerous intersection should have proper lights like in most of the places in the country. Every now and then TV tries to go over and above to compensate for our kinds of people.

Been here five years near that intersection and never noticed any issues. In fact, I am often grateful it is 4 way stop making entering and egressing easy both by car and golf cart. Perhaps I have been one of the fortunate ones but I haven't ever seen a wreck there. I would hate to see big brother put traffic cams there. However, if it indeed a dangerous 4 way intersection, perhaps a speed bump or two on each road just before the stop sign would work at alerting those that did not know that there is a stop sign ahead.

Most places in T.V. that have signs, people think they're just suggestions. The neighborhoods that have short streets off major ones will have 2-way stop signs. We do in ours and cars, trucks and carts continually blow right through. There have been near misses on these quite often. This place, EVERYONE should be using common sense and drive defensively!! I've wondered how many folks had behind the wheel driver's ed at any time???!!!
