Default Gators

Grandkids are coming down on Sunday for a week. Where have all the gators gone long time passing. I heard that they cleaned out Lake Sumpter of Gators last week.

Have not seen a gator at Sunset Point pond as there was one there for a long time. Same goes for Palmer pond.

Anyone spotted a gator lately????

I have not seen anyone taking gators out of Lake Sumter. As for not seeing any lately, I believe it is to hot for them to be out and about like they were in the cooler months. My daughter was just here and every morning she gets her coffee and scans the lake for gators. It is uncanny how she always finds them and points them out to our guests. They have al been in the deeper water..not up on shore or in the shallows.

We had a gator visit us on the 9th hole green at Kilimanjaro last Wednesday. He almost got hit by a golf ball. When we approached the green he walked across the green into a bunker. It then watched us for a short time, walked back across the green and jumped into the water. We gave it plenty of room.

Default gator

Last gator we saw was on our front porch. We think it came from the pond on the golf course out in back. That was in late May

We need to do something to help the gators. After all, they came here to retire too. We could call it gator-aide.

We saw the smaller gator at LSL last night just before sunset.

Saw a 5-6 footer off the pagoda deck at LSL Tuesday afternoon!

Just saw a beautiful gator in the pond on Buerna Vista next to Riley Grove
(Palmer).

Please folks, do not feed the gators at LSL, they become too friendly and will be killed. I see people feeding the baby alligators and in effect teaching them to approach humans for food. Not a good scenario.

My neighbor use to feed the buffalo until he was head butted while leaning over the fence with a carrot. I still miss them (the buffalo not my neighbor.)

We saw a 5-6 footer hiding under the pier at Lake Sumter last Tuesday evening. Several people crowded to look, it came out to beg and when no one fed it, it meandered off into the lake! My grandchildren got a kick out of it.
