So it seems even 99% isn't enough to convince some folks that there is real social and economic inequity in America, and that this is a colossal problem. The history of nations repeatedly and unequivocally has demonstrated the opposite.

So your saying we should be a socialist society? If that was truly the case then we would not have The Villages. A socialist society would deem us too rich to live in such a place. They would raze this place and build huts for all the people to live.

villagegolfer, the "Occupy Wallstreet" protesters call themselves the 99 percent. The 99 percent is in contrast, they say, to the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans who they claim get breaks others don't.

I think it is ironic that the "99 percent" tweet, blog and post from iphones and other gadgets that were developed, marketed and sold by free market-free thinkers who didn't have "people over profits" in mind when they
worked to pursue their own self-interests. It also makes me shake my head to see them joined by Hollywood elite and labor unions. We know they are not looking at profits. Right?

I don't know about you, but I worked hard for what I have, both my wife and I did. Why would I want to share with someone who has done nothing but keep their hand out for handouts. Work and eat or don't work and don't eat, your choice. I am getting tried of the continual government handouts to the unions and those that are to lazy to work.

Time for a regime change in Foggy Bottom. Time to elect those that will work for the good of America and not for the good of their re-election.

There are tons of entry level jobs going wanting. If the cuddling parents with 20-45 year olds living in the cellar, would kick them in the rear, the jobs would be filled quickly.

I do volunteer work at the Christian Food Pantry in Lady Lake. Obviously, it sounds as though the word "Christian" does not mean anything to you. Well, lots of uber-conservatives tout themselves as good Christians or Jews but when it comes to helping those who need help, they would rather kick them in the teeth than to give help when needed.

The Wall Street protests are the work of the Obama White House in that he continues his message of class warfare and it is a hateful and dangerous message.

The reason is simple Obama needs votes badly. That's why the unions are so heavily involved.

Also it is a counter offensive against the Tea Party movement which has frightened the delights out of the Dems.

The saving grace is that many Dems are keep a arm's length distance.

A CPA wrote an article in the Wall Street about "Moe the Millionaire. It seems he got himself a two year degree from a local community college and worked in insurance starting out at $9.000. Over the years he purchased a home for $95,000. He invested his money in a company his friends had started. We advance to his retiring. His house is now worth $450,000. he has no IRA or 401k but his friends are selling their business and he made a handsome profit of $950,000. Moe is now a millionaire and Obama wants an additional 5%.

Does this story resonate with at least half the people in The Villages

Prior to the mis-handling of our economy by OB many of our IRA's, etc were coming along nicely. Add up your assets and get ready because if you think OB's and the Dems plans to add a 5% tax on millionaires is going to fly, forget it. Because the really rich will just move their money to places you and I can't go and OB will continually drop the threshold of who gets taxed an additional 5%. If you don't agree think Alternative Minimum Tax because that was suppose to hit only the wealthy.

Finally OB once again invokes that "strawman" to deflect his inability. Now its millionaires who are the problem.

As I recollect from history there was a European leader who blamed all of his country's ills on a class of greedy and manuplative people.

Obviously, I do not believe that physical harm would come to millionaires but the consequences from trying to punish them because they are good at being profitable can be as dangerous.

If anyone believes they will be better off financially following Obama plans they may want to review our history for just the last 60 years.

The Wall Street protester are badly in need of an education

Since 2007 there are MILLIONS of hard working, honest Americans who have, through no fault of their own, lost their jobs, homes, businesses and/or life savings. It's a real problem, a serious threat to our nation.
The answer isn't socialism, which the naive college students being exploited by George Soros and the unions are wittingly or unwittingly calling for. Socialism is just the sharing of the misery, and that's been proven over and over every single time it's been tried, anywhere in the world, anytime it's been tried.

Someone disagrees with you and you have to call them a name to marginalize them. The name this time is, again, "bully". You say it and then think you made some point. It's misguided.

No, a Union of Soviet Socialist Republics or Cuba style regime would not raze this place. They would promise it "For Free" to all the "ambitious", "productive" and "self-supporting" protesters whiling away the hours on Wall Street.

People who truly want a job are either on the job, or they are out on the streets and interstate highways, LOOKING seriously for a job.

Also, people who truly want a job are intent upon presenting themselves as EMPLOYABLE, as in showing a can-do ATTITUDE, and showing behavior that is adult-like and willing to be SUBORDINATE to an employer/boss.

Showing up like a dirty, swearing, unkempt bum who's defacating in public places is not the way people present themselves on national t.v. when they seriously want to find a job.
