Default Still a frog for now

Hubby n I will be frogs for a couple more years. Hubby is ready, has his "Meet n Greet" address cards made, coming down as often as we can. I am a nurse and plan to continue working once we settle into TV. I have a Shar Pei and we are looking forward to meeting other canine companions. Until then we will keep updated on this forum. Thanks for all the info

Hello Dear,

Welcome to TOTV. So nice to meet you. There are lots of dog friendly people here! Can't wait to meet you and your Shar Pei at the dog park.

....WELCOME...."Didiwinbob" to the T.O.T.V. forum.

..........Wow...you guys already have your "meet n' greet" cards........
...... mine were made at a Vendor night right here at Lake Sumter Landing AFTER becoming a Villager.

......having snooped at your public profile.... found out your Hubby is a Michigan State grad.
...... (Sure glad I went there BEFORE you had to have a 3.75 GPA on a 4 point scale to get in).

...... You being a Nurse will have NO problem finding a job around here.
..... Hope you guys can make The Villages your 'hometown' real soon.
...... Amazing how many Michiganders are here.

.......

Well Dear, It's a calling card we give to each other so we can keep in touch. Like a business card only personal. Many people put their picture on it so you can remember them by the picture.

They were all the rage back in 2009 when I got here, not so much in 2010, and now you hardly see any. They're business cards 3.5 in. x 2 in. with your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and whatever other personal info you care to reveal.

I'm confused by the Still a frog for now post.
I thought a "Frog" was already a full-time resident that was "here till they croaked".

It is. I would think the poster meant to say "snow bird" or "snow flake".

......I too thought a Frog was ONLY HERE in the Winter....

......since at least the late 1950's ...those who ONLY WINTERED in Florida...
..... WERE always referred to as FROGS....
..........................................because they JUMPED from "PAD" to "PAD".......

.. ....but now we are NOW called FROGS ..as FULL-TIMERS...
.................................of course houses are no longer called "PADS"

..the "CAT" who changed it does not remember MAYNARD G.KREBS..
..or.. Dobie Gillis......(BOB DENVER and Dwayne Hickman).

I thought they left out the "not" between "still" and "a Frog".

They still are quite the rage iin the newly built areas. I got mine from VISTA Print. They used to be 250 for shipping only but I believe they have a nominal charge now.

They were still free when we ordered ours in December. Just had to pay for shipping.

Well, I've only been a regular visitor since the 80's and I've heard winter residents referred to as Snowbirds..but never Frogs.
Something to do with the song, probably.
