Default Why do we need a villages ID card??

So I was looking around on the villages site for information on the villages ID card. I'm not finding much. I was interested in what the advantage of having this card is or is it that everyone should have one just because they live there? We don't play golf so don't need it for that. I guess if we want to attend the club houses for activities or use the pool we would need it? Also, do we need a special pass or card to get into KD Bells?? Is there a charge for the villages ID card? Thanks for your comments.

Default I.D. Cards

I believe you need an I.D. card to get into any of the pool, rec centers, or to use any of the recreational facilities or be a member of any of the clubs. And, yes, you need an I.D. to get into Katie Belles. Any guest you have, need a guest I.D. card issued by the Villages. If you are renting, then there is a $50 charge for an I.D.

You need the card to attend activities at the rec centers and also for use of the pools and Katie Bells. It also gives you a discount at the movies. There is no charge for the orginals that are issured to you. If you do loose them I think they charge you a $10 fee.
Forgot to mention when you close on your house, they will take your picture and issue you your ID cards.

I really hope we do get to meet when you two move to the villages, you sound as excited about it as we do!! It is so fun to read your comments. I will be out there on Monday and Tuesday to peek at our house construction and take my little grandchildren for a ride in a cart. I do know you have to have an I.D. to get into all the things villagers enjoy.

If you want to obtain guest ID's for visitors, you will have to have a resident ID.
How would users of all the facilities be identified as residents without an ID?

Default I see the light!

It's becoming clear to me now.....thanks. I'm glad you gave me the heads up on the photo upon closing. I shall do my hair, put on makeup, put something pretty on, smile......Lord knows I don't want it looking like my driver's license picture ID! Most of them look like mug shots.

Default Trust me, You will need it!!

When you go to a rec center to take an art class or play cards or bunco, go there for a neighborhood potluck or exercise class, political meeting, billiards, dance class, lessons on Florida plants and birds, anything, they will scan your ID card. I will never forget the first time they scanned it. It is a noise a little bit like a wolf whistle.

You won't need it for the pool, since you have your own, but you will be going to the rec centers for a myriad of delightful things and you will need your Villages ID card to do them.

Default Scary noises

OOhhh. No wolves please. I think there are enough scary things in TV like snakes, get gos and the squirt gun possie.

Chances are you will not see a snake other than a small garter snake or glimpse a black racer snake as it very quickly moves away from you. The geckoes are cute little critters although they are actually anoles but everyone calls them geckoes so go with the flow.

The photo on the ID card does not always look like a mug shot. I actually like the way mine came out and they redid my wife's picture a couple of times before she chose one for the card. Very friendly people in The Villages do that kind of thing.

Default ID

It's our well deserved badge of Honor for completing the journey.

And we all earned it. One to a thousand dollars at a time.

And now - 50 cents off at the movies is priceless!

I'm loving it!

If you use any of the pools, don't forget to take your ID Card. If the Village Sheriff checks for IDs and you don't have one, he'll ask you to leave.
