Default To the rude person who did this.....

To the rude person who put a card that said "Golf Cart Hog", in the cart of a couple who are visiting The Villages for the first time through the Lifestyle Preview Plan - they were very upset as this was their first time in the village cart and tired to park like they thought was right. Made them wonder if this really was "The Friendliest Hometown"

It would have been much nicer if someone would have just explained to them what they did, instead of putting a sarcastic card in their cart.

That is awful!!!

It's not like lives were ruined by their cart taking up more space than needed (or whatever).

That BAD "how-do-you-do" is not representative of this community at all. Stick around a bit longer and give us a second chance!

Sorry they were upset but should a person really stick around to explain how someone should park? What happens if it is someone who does know better but doesn't care? Yes, the card was rude and could have been phrased much nicer -- something like in case you didn't know ..... -- but I doubt most of us would tell someone how to park their cart. Hopefully, they will see just how friendly we really are and chalk this up to just one of those things.

Speaking of parking your car....has anyone else noticed this: Several times while positioning the car to parallel park (which I can do fairly fast), as I got directly beside the car ahead of the space to start backing up, golf cart drivers came up behind me and sat at my rear bumper leaving NO room to back up to parallel park! They were rude and motioning like I should get going forward and not park. Is this common in some other states, to block cars while parallel parking? I've never seen this before coming here. (Maybe they lived in NYC and never had a car of their own to park before?)

Exactly how did they park?

Do you signal when attempting to parallel park? If so, people should give you the space to do so.

Maybe you should start to back up very slowly and give them something to really think about! By the way, I have had people yell at us for backing out of our own driveway ............... people are just plain rude.

Default Just learn from mistakes

I'm sorry the new people had to experience such behavior. However, with many people returning to the area parking will be at a premium everywhere. One wrong move and people will let you know about it. The LSV folks need not let this weigh heavily on their opinion of TV. Some people's fuses are short and we must take it all in stride. I wish them a great time while they are here.

Soooo, as a new owner who has not yet made the move, just what is the accepted protocol to park the cart? Hubby will flip out if this card were placed in his cart!!

That is not what seniors are known for. Our good manners. I feel so ashamed for all of this.

I wish someone from the girl's posse had seen this happen.

Each parking space holds 2 golf carts OR 1 car. If you travel in a group you can park 4 golf carts to a space 2 in front and 2 behind because you are all coming and going together. But DON'T block a strangers car in.
