Default No Brownwood camera

It seems a bit odd that the camera in Brownwood isn't working this evening......just in time for the tree lighting. That's not in the Christmas spirit to block the camera for the tree lighting. I'm disappointed.

It's working now and the square is filled...... Sometimes one of the cameras is "down."

It's working as I have been watching it for a few hours. There is a capacity of 503 people that can watch it and if your 504 the display will be all white.

I watch the cam often and have never seen Brownwood so packed with people. They are definitely in the Christmas mood.

Can't wait until next year and we can join in the festivities.

Um......must be my iPad. It's not working here. I'm glad it is working for everyone else! I get Sumter and Spanish Springs but not Brownwood.

Are you going through The Villages webcam? If so is the screen white when you click on it? If it is just keep trying and eventually you will get in when someone leaves.

It is at max users according to a note at the bottom of the screen. But like someone said just stay there and when someone leaves you might get the site. I just did.

I don't believe that there was any problem with the Brownwood Cam tonight except for capacity limit nor was there anything wrong with anyone's computer or other device related to accessing the cam. It was simply a case of continuous demand for the cam and the need for someone wanting to gain access to be persistent in order to get their proverbial foot in the door to catch the brief moments where an opening is available.

This brings me back a similar situation. It was circa 1960 when local radio shows used to have call in contests for prizes... usually a cheap item or tickets to a local event. i.e. "The tenth caller to call in with the correct answer will win..." In our area it was radio station 1540 WPTR that I remember most. These contests were so popular that you would most likely get a busy signal and would be lucky to get in at all before a winner was declared. To even have a slim chance of getting in you had to be persistent by constantly dialing over and over, again and again! Got myself in a little trouble with my parents one time when I was trying to get in by actually having the rotary dial separate from the phone by my dialing too much. Now that's persistent!

BTW, both the wife an myself had problems getting into the cam, but by being persistent in reloading or refreshing like I've indicated, we were able to get the cam within a few minutes.

I remember 1540 WPTR! Anyhow, I believe it was camera overload. I can now access it.

Figured you might remember it since you weren't that far away from Albany. Do you remember their likeable and flamboyant legend DJ, Boom Boom Brannigan? (shown below)

The Villages Florida

Boom Boom died 3 years ago at the age of 82.
