Thank you, Lov. If it's in October can I wear a costume?

Hey Dennis, Meeting people in small groups, not clubs works for me...
Let me know by PM if you want to have lunch or dinner with a small group and we'll make a plan.

The singles community here is fabulous, and will doubtless help you get oriented, comfortable, and familiar with friendly faces.
Is this the thread for TV wannabee singles?

sorry Charley. nope.
editing post...reason...I think I misunderstood you Charley and apologize.
I thought you wanted to be single and already lived here...but perhaps you don't live here but are single?
I am protective of the community here against being hit on.
forgive me, and read Cha's note, who is gentler and more sensible than me.

hi kitty and charley and everyone...i just want to say that i have made lots of friends on TOTV before they had sold their homes wherever they were, so they were officially wannabees, so i think wannabees singles should be welcome to post here or on any of the threads. maybe it would be good to start a new thread by that name? this thread is really for newbies who just moved here! what am i doing here? i've been here five years!!

Hello everyone! My name is Bob and I have been an owner in TV for 2 years. I have not signed the papers yet, but I plan on retiring this Sept. Hopefully 9/3 will be my last day. I have worked with USDA for 35 years in WV. While it has been very rewarding, I am due for a change from the red tape of government. My first grandchild is due 9/14, so I will be staying in WV to meet the little fella and then heading to TV. I sold my house in WV in June and have moved my furnishings to TV. I just need to throw a few things in my truck and hitch-up the boat and head South. I have been single for almost 10 years. I must admit I enjoy my independence, but I am looking forward to meeting new people and finding new activities to enjoy. I hope to be finally in TV for good the end of Sept. Hopefully soon after I get there I will have an opportunity to meet some of you. Regards.

Hey Bob, my mom worked for usda too. congrats on retiring. I hope you have a southern accent. that goes a long way with us GRITS. I know a couple of great places to launch your boat, and one on the w. coast to dry dock it.
Looking fwd to meeting you!

Default Courage needed

Hi tv folks. Sure wish i lived there. Still in connecticut but definately thinking about moving to tv. I am a widow, a former teacher and editor and author (one book published). I have a ba from boston college in education and an mls. Any other bc grads out there? There seems to be such a great community spirit there in tv. I'd be there now, but i keep chickening out because i am alone and a move there by myself is scary. Someone give me some courage!!!!!!!!!!

My husband died 3-2012 & i purchased a house here 7-2012. Moved 10-2012. It was scary, but i had two sisters here & another coming next year. Family is fine, but we all need friends & i have found you can have a lot of single friends on totv or by joining clubs or getting out & meeting people. There is so much to do here, but it is up to you to get out & do it. Don't be afraid--enjoy the rest of your life.
