I taught grades 2-8 over 39 years and was also in a facilitator position. I'd like to see what type of activities are available. I know there are many. I like to read, play games including a few card games, and plan to be involved in First Baptist Church of TV. Of course, I'm hoping to learn to play golf too. I'm looking forward to this next phase of my life. :-)

I know this thread is supposed to be for singles that already live in TV but I have been reading it for awhile and want to tell you that it has been very helpful to me in making a decision to move to TV.

I'm not there yet but I will be coming in Sept. to visit some very dear friends who already live in TV and (hopefully) to find a home for myself there.

My husband of 31 years passed away last year and now I just want to meet some new friends, have some fun and enjoy my hobbies.

You all sound like a great group of folks who enjoy each others company.

Thanks for all info that is posted. I look forward to meeting you when I move there.

lhasalady, Welcome to TOTV, and I hope you have a great visit in The Villages in September. And I hope you are able to find the home of your dreams in The Villages. -- from a single TV wannabee near Chicago.

Actually we love coaching you in if you aren't here yet. I'm sorry about the loss of your husband. To my surprise, the friendships are easier to make than where I came from. There are people interested in absolutely anything you like to do and it's fun to find them and make your own activity.
I look fwd to meeting you. Post as often as you like and ask questions too.

I just about have Singtruck/Philip talked into a singles party at his place in Hillsborough so help me out here. He has an awesome juke box, cool dog named "tractor" and neat guy house with woods in the rear. Can you guys help convince him to do it by posting if you'd enjoy a party at Philip's....

Philip has decided to postpone his party. The best date would have been in August, but then some of our favorite people wouldn't be here.

The singles community here is fabulous, and will doubtless help you get oriented, comfortable, and familiar with friendly faces.
Where do you guys meet? I would like to become a member if possible?

Thank you
Tom

Hi Tom,

It's not that kind of group. We meet pretty much spontaneously, other than what has become our monthly parties. When any one of us has an idea to do something, they simply send out a post on TOTV and invites any other single who would like to come. This Friday the 20th is our 'Meet and Greet' party this month. I'm attaching the invitation. Please let me know if you would be interested in joining us.

Katie

You're invited to a
Singles "MEET AND GREET"
Dinner Party

(asking for small donation to cover costs)

After dinner, Pictionary, Battle of the Sexes etc.
(or you can just sit back, watch, and have
a few laughs at our expense)

First 30 RSVP's. invited.

Not many guys Posting here however I like the positive upbeat energy of this Board so here goes :

Obviously, from my handle , my name is Jim . I moved down here over 1 year ago from Buffalo , NY . I was a Banker for over 35 years most of it at an Exec. Level [ boring and irrelevant I realize but that was my life 60+ hours a week ].

Been through the pain of a late in life , unanticipated but necessary divorce and have mostly just kept to myself since moving here . More recently I have been slowly getting out and joining Clubs .

I`m a lot more interesting than this intro [ then again maybe not ]. One on one I can be a bit shy at first which is amazing considering that I did a great deal of Public Speaking in my career !

I enjoy and follow most every sport altho ice hockey is my favorite and a life-long passion . " Back in the Day " I actually had the following season tickets all at the same time :

Buffalo Sabres
Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bisons [ AAA Baseball ]
Buffalo Bandits [ Lacrosse ]
Arena Football
Studio Arena Theater
Sheas Performing Arts Center [ Broadway Theater ]
The Albright Knox Art Gallery

I was active on several Charitable and Cultural Boards . I was assigned by my bank Chairman to work with the General Manager of the Buffalo Sabres when they were going through an extended ownership search and bankruptcy .

I also enjoy history and following current events .

Ironically , I never had many quiet moments until I moved here which I will admit is ridiculous . I would really welcome any opportunity to meet and get to know some new friends, who , like me happen to find themselves single at this stage of life .
Thanks for listening . Jim
Hey I'll start cheering for the Bills! They have at least 4 Seminoles on their roster! QB,Field goal kicker, punter and long snapper. GO Buffanoles!

Sable, we're tossing ideas around for your party. A gentleman has offered to host, we're just setting the date...more later in a new thread.
