I have definitely experienced the very same thing... actually last July 4th fireworks display. I'm sure it common, not just something you, I, and Scottie have experienced. But it sure gave the blood thirsty media a couple days of their blood lust ! In some ways reminds me of the non stop coverage of the NASCAR "hanging noose" incident, media licking their chops !

Ridiculous stupid comment. Does anyone think that under the same circumstances the charges wouldn't have been dropped for Jay-Z as well?????

Being a retired LEO you should know failure to turn a body cam on during a stressful event is not evidence of wrongdoing. Cops have arrested people for many years without electronic devices to prove they are not lairs.

I see a detective working an overtime shift, probably trying to boost his retirement. He probably doesn't know how to turn the body cam on.

If he doesn't know how to turn his body cam on, why was he wearing one?

If it is police policy to turn it on during encounters, his "wrongdoing" was not following procedure...

Would you say the same ting about a taser he may be carrying?

You must not have worked a truly stressful job. Believe me, being knocked down by a car will rearrange your thought process (I speak from experience).

People love to Monday morning cops without having a clue what it takes to their job.

Great reason to turn the camera on BEFORE grabbing at a moving vehicle and losing your balance.

I speak from experience as well....but this site isn’t Indeed.com. Common sense says a ‘professional’ should know better. The body cams are now part of the uniform....not wearing one or turning one on....you’re out of uniform. It’s not about ‘Monday morning cops’. The reason body cams are in use today is not solely because of the actions of the people we, you or anybody else ‘serves and protects’.....it’s also because of the actions of some that have ‘served’ before you. We live in a skeptical and more importantly, a litigious society....I for one am not intimidated by cameras in the workplace nor on my person. If you’re doing nothing wrong....nothing will come of it. If not, body cams are a valuable tool in meting out punishment or clearing ones actions and name.

I was paid to use my head and plan for things before they turned bad. Then if they did turn bad, it was my responsibility to find a safe way out.

Grabbing at moving vehicles was never part of my job.

So you were never hit by a car then and forgot a proceedure. Got it.

You should have a camera put on you while you golf, you know, so we can see if you cheat. My comment was not about the camera, rather remembering to do things 100% correct when under huge stress. I don't fault the guy because I know better. But everyone thinks they know how to police with zero experience.

The detective involved wasn’t “hit by a car”. He grabbed on to the door handle of a moving vehicle and eventually let go. IMHO he exercised extremely poor judgement—-after all, the vehicle was turning into a parking lot, just where did he think it was going?

Based on this specifics cop's track record, he often doesn't exercise even reasonable judgement.

Why is this being re-hashed, given the facts are already known?

The cop was reprimanded for not following procedure and not his first time.

The subsequently release video, showed the cop chasing and grabbing onto Scottie's vehicle.

The Louisville Police Department has admitted the officers didn't follow procedure and they didn't feel they had a case.

The cops didn't used reasonable judgement, didn't follow procedure and it's over with.

The recent update is that the Police Chief resigned this week for her department’s mishandling of the arrest.

Nope, you’re right....comparing the actions of a casual duffer on a golf course to those of a ‘seasoned’ detective at what became a crime scene. I think I missed that module in the academy
