In 1970, when times were changing and counter culture films were be being released enmass, and just after "Easy Rider" was the first R Rated film to be shown in military theaters (my only available venue at the time) , I saw a film called "Joe" which starred Peter Boyle. It was the most disturbing film I had seen up to that point in my life. I, along with the rest of America, have since been completely desensitized to violence in film.

I was never a fan of Western movies until this one came out. And I did not see one mention here. This movie came out in 1968 and had a host of great stars. Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson, Jayson Robards, Claudia Cardinale and Jack Elam. It was the only movie Fonda played the bad guy. From the first ten minutes into the movie, you hated Fonda, It's an epic spaghetti western filmed by Sergio Leone. It's widely considered to be one of the greatest westerns of all time. You can still see this on TV.

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (I think this is from the 1940's), Dirty Dancing, Jaws.
