I’m gobsmacked by the number of replies that say they will never watch another DiNero performance again. In my opinion, he is one of the greatest actors of all time. Period. But I agree with those that think his political stupidity has erased any goodwill he may have had from his fans. I was a fan, but no longer. I will never again spend any of my remaining time on this earth watching or listening to this idiot.

The ship has sailed and we aren’t going back to the way things were done in the past. I can only imagine the chaos that can be caused by computer hackers and Zero Day certainly brought that horrific possibility to light. Wars don’t need to be fought with guns anymore but with the stroke of a key. I binge watched and thought it was well done. I may never sleep again.
I probably will watch it at some point. So many good shows out there to see though. It may take me a while to get to it .

I can only type that TOTV is the most virtuous bbs of which I have been a poster

I asked a question about the plot, and came back with irrelevant posts about an actor's political views.

should we read up on all the actor's political views? nah, I couldn't care less, I can't change anyone else, don't care about most other's political views, so I might as well enjoy some entertainment.

Nicely put. Sounds like a cyber attack cripples the US disrupting train, car and plane travel with widespread injuries and deaths among other things and the authorities need to figure out how to stop it from happening again.

that's one aspect, the most interesting and politically relevant, was the treasonous actions of the speaker of the house, and other members of the congress vying against the president, including the president's daughter, with similar excuses for correcting the perceived changes from the good old days. They used technology for their own goals

Irrelevant?? Sorry when a thread is open all relevant posts should be honored. The thread mentioned Robert Deniro so..,, open to comments regarding him. Including posters views of him. IMO he personally is a hater. And I do not agree with his personal views or actions. That said I would never view one of his productions. My view my choice my opinion. It’s relevant.

He is not one of the people I contacted in late 1992-early 1993 through the early 2000s to get involved with empowering people pulled into the legal system as survivors/victims of crimes. My 224 613 Project. He seemed more involved with becoming a great actor immersing himself in his various roles. He was great in Raging Bull as well as in many of his other films.

BUT in his later years, 2016-2020 and 2024-current he is a very angry man spouting his outrage. Of course he has his rights to do that. As folks have rights to not support him by purchasing tickets to see his films.

I have no problem with celebrities speaking their minds. Some do overdo it. There are usually hundreds if not thousands of people involved with developing, filming, advertising blockbuster movies and huge series. One hothead should not keep people away from these works.

There are people on the other side of my views of various issues and their involvement in various movies does not stop me from seeing these movies and tv shows.

I do not care what Mel Gibson might say about such -and-such as he is known for putting some very strange statements out there.

SMH...

The whole plot of the movie is exposing how the media/power brokers are purposely and effectively polarizing the population to feed their greed and personal power. The movie's message is exposing the tragedy of an unforgiving and intolerant citizenry that they turn on one another. It's my way or the highway....

The irony of this forum is that the movie's claims are so perfectly on display here...

Deniro is a foul mouthed, hater. I have no problem with celebrities voicing their political views if asked, but when they use their celebrity status to broadcast their hate.....I'm finished with them and won't support their ****.

That has been the norm for about a decade IMHO. Talk of the Villages was quite nasty around 2015 and a few years after that. It has changed for the better.

Nastiness can be in the eyes of the beholder.

Maybe. But there was a group of very aggressive posters on Talk of the Villages who repeatedly made false statements. Cyberbullying was the norm. Not the exception.
