It took me years but here is my method: bring tap water to a boil, put eggs in water, set a timer for 15 minutes, put eggs in ice cubes and water immediately. The ice cubes and cold water stop cooking the eggs. Wait five minutes and peel under a slow drip of cold water. Works every time.

I use a rice cooker. Tray will hold a dozen. Turn on for 27 minutes, then ice water bath. I guess a rice cooker is pretty much like the egg cooker. Works great.

I spent a good deal of time one day looking at egg cookers. I concluded that the eggs should be steamed, not boiled. The into ice bath five minutes. Very easy to shell and the egg looking like it hasn't been beaten into submission.
