It is one of the things I love most. Thank you so much for mentioning it.

Moral of my story. If I had that kind of money I would be buying elsewhere

Why would anyone want to buy a house that is so much more than the homes in the general area?

I am wondering if this is a home belonging to someone in the Developer's family?
Why would anyone want a house in Minnesota?

All the nice people who now live there who either aren't old enough to move here or hadn't heard about The Villages.

Sit down Doc. I am gonna break something to ya. There are other places in the world loved by their inhabitants. I always thought that people who didn't live in Ohio were just savin' up so they could move there eventually..

I don't even know where it is. I swear that if someone put a gun to my head and told me to find it on a map I couldn't do it.

Good news, thanks to GG and the last election I now know where Ohio is.

If this place sells at over $2M will it set a record for the highest price paid for a home in The Villages proper? I have been following the "for sales" both by TV's own outfit and MLS and have seen a few advertised for up to about $1.3M if I recall correctly. This one seems over the top to me, but who knows? On such a property it is almost always a case of finding just right buyer.

Nice profit if it sells, according to the Zillow link, it sold for $749K in 2010, now $2.4M. Think of the property taxes!

They are our neighbors and will miss them. They have greatly enlarged the home and then added the huge lanai/ pool. The fountain in front is worth a fortune. So what they paid for it doesn't mean what it is worth now.

just goes to show you can live in the villages if you have plenty of money or very little. someone who deserves it will most likely move in. Perhaps they had a long successful career and I just wish them luck and happiness They will enjoy the lifestyle like we all do

For that kind of money, I'd rather have the small designer I have now in TV, buy a cottage on a lake in the While Mountains of NH and travel. But the home does have some nice features. Let's see how long it takes to sell.

Fun map snooping as I get ready for some Friday evening fun....

PS. If I could ever (will not happen without lottery) afford to spend 2.4m on a home, I think I would spend it on 2 and enjoy various lifestyles in various places.... I can only dream of such things I am afraid....
Whoever buys this may very well have two or three or four homes. They will also probably gut it and have it designed in their own style. It would surprise me to see someone buy this and use it as a vacation home for a few weeks or months each year.

Oh, I know that Gracie. There are definitely people that live in Minnesota and love it there. In fact, I think I know both of them.

The only thing I like about that home is the pool. The rest of it is just okay and nothing I'd be interested in. Good for the homeowners that they can afford it, though. That said, I do wish we had that kind of money!
