I had my cart recently serviced by Villages Golf Carts in Brownwood. They had in their agreement to service my cart that they set all golf carts to go 20mph. If I wanted them to leave it where it is and not adjust to 20mph I had to sign off on that.They mentioned nothing about raising the speed above 20mph. Where did you get your information that they will raise your governor to 25mph? That would open them up to lawsuits and they won’t do that.

Same thing at the Sumter Landing garage. They had put in the governor in our golf cart prior to that. And we kept it.

Some people are so weak-minded that they are triggered by just the thought of someone wanting to pass and go faster than them. A rational individual adult does not care one bit as long as the passer uses proper judgment and doesn't interfere.

To avoid being passed by the obnoxious accelerator-as-on/off-switch, I would suggest setting your speed to at least 22 mph. I rarely get passed by the I-want-to-go-one-mile-per-hour-faster type at 22 mph.

When I used to take my cart there, I had to sign a paper stating that if my governor was adjusted they would set it back. Has that changed? If you need to go so fast, drive your car.

I have not researched it, but is adjusting a governor something an "average" owner can do?
