I have a comment, the golf course is for people playing golf, not for recreational use when it's opened or closed. I can't tell you how many times in the summer people ride through the course toward golfers hitting balls at them. We've had to stop playing and wait for non-golfers to pass us before playing and have waited for people touring the course to ride far enough past us so we can tee off. Stay off the course if you are NOT playing golf!

The LAST Tee time closes at 4:00 so people will be playing after 4:00. If you play championship course and tee off at 4, you will not finish until 7:30 or 8..

That is simply not correct. The last tee time is 4pm.

The championship courses are private property and not owned by you or any resident, so that is why you are not able to walk on the courses... only paying customers playing golf!

I always find it amazing how willingly people here will follow rules whether the rules make sense or not. The only rationale that I have seen for keeping walkers off the executive courses is one of insurance. Really? Remember, we all pay for the use of the executive courses with our amenity fees. As Goldwingnut points out, these are not private courses - they are owned by the CDC a public entity. So, for some reason our insurance would no longer cover a person who is walking on the cart path but yet it would cover a golfer if he were playing on the course? Nonsense.

Can anyone give a logical reason why the extra evening hours can not be used for walking? We are paying for this amenity and walking is an encouraged activity that is easy to maintain social distancing. Or, are you willing to just follow whatever rules are set up like obedient sheep?

You are correct, the last tee time on both the execs and champs is 4. You can not make a tee time after four. If you start at four you can play until you finish.

I don't understand why people are upset that we can still golf. Precautions are being taken seriously and obeyed. And why wouldn't The Villages be happy to allow folks to walk or ride bikes on the closed courses. They are a safe place for us to get out for some needed fresh air and exercise and stay even more isolated than on the public streets and walkways. Why do we hear so many moaners and complainers.
We are so blessed and fortunate to be living here.

Duh! Anyone on the course after the last tee time, in other words, following the last tee time, which is 3:58, is prohibited from being there. What is so hard to understand?

Are you saying we should not obey and break the rules?

Did you understand that the CDC's mask recommendation was only for those situations where a 6 foot distance could not be maintained? Grocery stores--yes. Lines to pick up take out food---probably. Riding in a golf cart----no. Now, you are free to wear a mask anytime and anywhere you like, but don't lecture others who are following the recommendation

I totally agree with you Bev........... no reason why a pedestrian shouldn't be able to take a walk on a closed course. Anyone really, but ESPECIALLY, one who has paid his trail fees. ( if that is what is irritating people). The insurance excuse is not valid... It would work the same as for golfers...

Easy, big guy. I understand it just fine. You're the one muddying the water with "What part of "the courses are closed for play after 4" doesn't everyone understand? You are trespassing after 4 and can't play. If caught, you will be asked leave on your own, or be "escorted" off."

And technically, there are a bunch of 4:00 pm tee times, not just 3:58.
