Facts matter.
Agree...................the "ultimate responsibility" for the operation(s) is the CEO, not stockholders.

Breaking the corporate veil ain't going to happen.

That AI snippet states "Mark Morse AND FAMILY", not him individually, and cites Bloomberg

Cineworth states : The Morse Family The Villages’ current net worth is estimated to be around $1 billion as of 2025, according to the latest available information. This figure is a testament to their successful entrepreneurial journey and strategic business ventures."

Yes, facts matter.

The $80M is to settle with the various debtors. There's a separate settlement with the DOJ in the amount of $514.5M!

So if Villages Health mis coded to the tune of $365 million how many other Health businesses mis coded too? If none then it was intentional and criminal. If one of many then a common business error and their willing to pay back $80 million might be reasonable?

$80M to hide their personal financial statements. Hmmm, smells like something may be rotten here that goes a lot deeper than a Health Care bankruptcy investigation. As usual, taking an action like this only increases the public's curiosity.

I think the Morse family is worth way more money, than what you see reported from various sources. Of course, that's now diluted as it's passed through the generations.

There are many things the Morse family has done well, one of which is to fly under the radar and hold things close to their vest. They have never been publicity seekers and prefer obfuscation and keeping things behind the curtain ... the Disney model in everything they do.

I think this is a continuation of that philosophy, but that's just a wild guess.

“If they have the money”? C’mon get real. What rock have you been hiding under? The less they pay, the more we all pay. Not fair!!

Well if they’re not then who? The employees, an external auditor (if they had one) et al employed by the system? Find it hard to believe this is just a coding error that went on for years that reached a rather large sum of money. Hopefully their “contribution” does’nt x
curtail a deep dive investigation.

You don’t think systemic coding errors in an electronic medical records environment can go on for years? News flash: they can. The real question is why their external auditors thought their coding was ok but the Humana auditors didn’t. But once CMS saw $$$ we all know what they would do, hardly an unbiased opinion
