Ask the cops they seem to have plenty of witnesses

Left turning cars are one of the most common causes of accidents between a car and a motorcycle. The auto driver either doesn’t see the motorcyclist or doesn’t gauge the speed correctly and enters into a left turn across the oncoming traffic and hits the motorcyclist. If motorcyclists run their high beams in the daytime oncoming traffic may see them better and may hesitate before crossing in front of them. As a motorcyclist you have to enter every intersection with your hand over the brake and look at every car as a threat and expect some of them to pull out in front of you.

All major intersections in the Villages area need to ban turning left on green and only allow with the turn arrow. This intersection is a problem when turning left from any direction.

Disagree. Never liked the idea of catering to the lowest common denominator. Teach people to drive correctly, DEMAND that they drive correctly, but don't punish us all for the inadequacies of the few.

In another thread there is talk of changing the inefficient timing of the lights at Lake Sumter. Now this comment wants to make all intersections less efficient by requiring me to wait for my light to cycle rather than turning left across an empty road.

I appreciated the flashing yellow heading south from Morse onto 44. That's gone now.

I appreciate all the input. Here’s what happened:
I was westbound on 466A going to turn left onto Buena Vista. I was the first car in line and I was a car length into the intersection. Traffic was heavy and I waited for the light to turn yellow. When it did I proceed slowly as the oncoming traffic came to a stop. I then, still carefully, proceeded to make the turn. Suddenly my passenger door exploded with a crash. I don’t know where he came from but he was driving very fast, judging by the damage. After the light turned yellow it was 5-6 seconds later that I was struck. It was NOT as the paper said that it was a green light and I failed to yield. I would very much like someone that saw the accident to verify my account.

You should talk to a lawyer and not post stuff about the accident on social media.

All vehicles need cameras. Spend 30 bucks on Amazon. It saved me from a traffic violator. Other party flat out lied and caved when insurance got video,
Disgusted the other party does not get charged with false police statements

2nd case of auto accident lying that I heard in 1 week. Friend just told us a story about a young girl hitting their car with her mom's car who after hitting her came out of the car and asked if she was all right. Young girl admitted it was her fault, then called her mom (who was a paralegal), then changed her story not admitting to fault. Mom advised her what to say. Be careful out there, get written statements if you can, or quickly record their confession if possible. People BS to get out of paying and it just isn't right. While this doesn't assist the OP question, whoever reading keep this in mind. You should never have to pay for someone else's mistake involving damage to your vehicle or yourself.

My sister replied to her story saying last time someone caused an accident to her car she quickly grabbed a witness and took their info. Whatever you can do in the quickest amount of time to help your case. Just figure that they're gonna lie at some point.

Second that idea about left turns on signal only. Anyone expecting drivers to adhere to the rules of the road as the Bible is deluded.
