Unhappy Passing of Husband. Looking for bereavement group

Hello. I am a member for over a year but this is my first post so I hope I do it correctly. I am so sorry to say that my beloved husband, Joe, passed away on January 31, 2012. I am truly heartbroken. We were only living in The Villages for 15 months and having a blast. He was 67. I am in New Jersey now where I brought Joe home to be buried. Our family is all here, four daughters and their mates, and 12 grandchildren. I am coming back to The Villages with one of my daughters and her family on February 29. I am in need of a bereavement group. I am hurting and I know I need grief counseling. I am not making any rash decisions on where or what I will do next but for now I would like to know if anyone knows of a grief counselor, or group in or near The Villages. Thank you for your help. Maureen

I don't know of a counselor, but I do want to take the time to express my condolences on your loss. May the fond memories of you hubby help ease the pain you must feel as you go forward. Joe

Maureen, am so sorry for your loss. I'm sure you had just settled in to your "retired life" and planned on having many years to enjoy your new life in TV. I hope someone is able to help you with a grief counselor. It's great that you recognize that it would be helpful. Surely in a city of mostly silver haired people, there must be many services available to people in your situation.

Hugs!

I too am very sorry for your loss. I am sure it is difficult, but skyguy is correct in saying the good memories are the legacy we all leave behind some day. You will always have those memories to warm your heart.

Maureen,

.....We are truly sorry to hear of the passing of Joe.
God must have needed another Angel.
May the Good Lord allow you to find peace,
in this time of great sorrow.

Our prayers are with you and yours.

I sent you a private message, going into a little detail about Cornerstone Hospice. It is a wonderfully, helpful place.

Maureen,

I am so very sorry for your loss.

I sit here looking at this screen wishing I could give you the words you need to make it through this... and I just don't have them. Please consider this forum a group hug. While it's not the loving arms that you need right now, I think you know that everyone on this forum is here for you, or you wouldn't have posted here.

Please keep posting. Find the people on this forum who you feel a connection with, and when you get back home, please contact us so that we can spend time with you. So that you can tell us all about Joe and your love for him, so that he can live through all of us.

Sending positive thoughts to you.... Please hurry back home.
