Default Adbacadabra Not Coming to the Villages

Do any of you remember past performances by Adbacadabra, an Abba tribute band. This group played the Savannah Center every other year and sold out all four performances every year. But according to The Villages Entertainment Group, there's no longer any interest so they're not planning to book this group in the future. Since Adbacadabrathey always sold out in the past, you have to wonder how or why Barbara Vesco came to her decision. If any of you feel similarly, please send an email to Baraba to let her know that there's genuine interest here in The Villages in seeing this group return. barbara.vesco@thevillages.com

If they sold out every show, and Barbara said "There is no interest" it sounds to me as if there are some behind the scene issues going on. Perhaps Adbacadabra wants more $$$ for ticket than the norm. This should not be an issue. Give them the extra $$$ and if sales fall flat and than say "There is no interest." It would be like saying "There is no interest" in Peter Noone. Sounds to me someone should look into this matter.

Vesco makes decision solely based on the advantage(s) of hers or TV interests only....to try to understand why they do not line up with the needs/wants of residents is futile.
However, the the needs of TV are met and coincidentally match those of the residents we like to believe they are ding it for us.

TV first priority...the residents on page 2!.

Not sure how you know so much about the motivations of Barbara Vesco and the Entertainment Dept. ???? Personally, I believe it would be a HUGE job to book talent into both squares, Katie Bell's, Church on the Square and any other venue they manage - 365 days/year.

As far as the residents on page 2...without the residents, there is NO TV

Just saying....

maybe the booking agent for Adbacadabra feels they have saturated the area and prefer to book other areas/venues? as far as travel routing goes, maybe the venues that have already been booked do not make it convenient to come to florida?

anyone who is truly upset/disappointed by the entertainment division decision should feel free to contact a representative of Adbacadabra and find out if they themselves might be the reason the group is not coming to the villages? popular interest can sometimes be more persuasive than just sounding off in frustration!

Or maybe the group has other plans. Maybe you can see them outside of the villages.

You raise a good point. However, we did contact Adbacadabra. They said The Villages told them "little or no interest" as the reason for not booking them again. Adbacadabra has been booked by Plantation in Leesburg but this performance is private and not available to the public.

Villages Entertainment does not book all of the acts into the Savannah Center. If you see Rocky and the Rollers opening the bill, the main act has probalby been booked in by Rocky Entertainment, Inc.
