I understand you must walk your dog. there are hundreds of acres of public space let alone dog parks around. If you choose to use other peoples property , golf courses etc..
then please don't act so offended by someone calling you out for being lazy or just irresponsible...

Default Dog walk in golf courses

Unfortunately too many people have no respect or think they don’t need rules
Very sad

I work on a champ course and kick off more "trespasser's" during the winter months. Could be coincidence.

The real issue is......what will you do now that you know you are not allowed on the golf courses unless playing?
Take up golf.

OR it's simply too damned hot for "trespassers" in the other seasons? Trespassers? Jesus.

So come on, let my puppy have a little fun and me too! Life is a very short project so lighten up! It's not good for your heart to be grumpy. I've seen golfers do more damage to greens than a dog could do in a week.
He's my buddy!
You sound responsible. I do think they should use a lot of common sense when applying rules.

Yes "trespasser's". There are some that just make a wrong turn, you get to know the difference.

Some people must of never been taught that if you have nothing nice to say then don’t say it!
If the golf courses would start fining people, or for that matter, anywhere else that has restrictions, and it’s hitting their pockets/pocketbooks , things might change.

WOW just WOW. New to the Villages. Haven't even moved into our house yet but will be in November and plan to be there full time although we will vacation some during the summer months. Does that still make us the dreaded "snowbirds?" We have a dog and have gotten the clear message. No dogs on the golf courses not that we planned to. We researched where we were buying so we would be close to a dog park and figured that's where we were allowed to let her loose.

When we were there in March to see our new place, we accidently got onto a golf course path with our golf cart due to our GPS and not really knowing the area very well. A very kind man told us we were not supposed to be on the golf path there and told us where we needed to go. We thanked him and went back the way we got there and were very careful not to do that again.

Some people are new to the area and don't know all the rules yet. Maybe if you just spoke to that person on the golf course nicely, he might have said thank you and that he was unaware. Don't assume all people know the rules. There seems to be a lot of them as I am learning on here.

Maybe some of you that seem to know all the rules should start a class for those of us who are new or is there one already?

They need to rename this forum, The Complainer's Page. There's more complaining going on than there are solutions, or anything else.

I imagine racoons, gators, squirrels, rabbits... and maybe even deer use the golf course at night.

Nasty comment. . You people who complain about “snowbirds” are jealous that you haven’t the means to escape TV summer heat. Pathetic

That is such a pile of dog doo. Show us the facts.

I’d like to walk the golf course myself, but i know it isn’t permitted. I guess it will continue until something gets broke or a green gets trashed by a dog.

There really isn’t anything you can do because i’ve tried. I called the villages community security about it but they just tell me it’s not their jurisdiction.
Oh well
most are helpfull

We're dog people, have been all our lives. I'm naturally more tolerant of other people's pets because I've always had my own. People who aren't dog people, whose pets aren't major portions of their lives have no tolerance for those who are. It's just like kids, I used to think all kids were obnoxious to be around and then had a couple of my own. Sure, they can still be obnoxious but it just doesn't bother me so much anymore. I think the VAST majority of pet owners want to do right by their neighbors and their pets. If my dog despite my best efforts goes in someone's yard or common area I will pick it up, period. I always walk them in my own yard first trying to make them go there so I don't have to worry so much about them picking a spot along the way, but it still happens. Some people don't care for bike riders on public roads, others don't like something someone is doing on the cart paths, I don't think dog owners ruin The Villages any more than any other group that's just trying to enjoy their lives the best way they know how.

Wife and I passed what we took to be a mating Couger by one of the starter shacks one night.
All sorts of wildlife out there!
