That makes sense. If you owned two grocery stores, why would you compete against yourself? I’m sure they will get top dollar for the store next to Target, Outback and Lowe’s. It would be a win/win!

Read my post in its entirety. I premised by saying ALL chains deal with recalls. It’s not a knock on Aldi or TJ

It's ok. No need to defend Aldi. Let people continue to shop and pay more at Publix. 466A Aldi's runs out of the good stuff as it is. Don't need the converts.

Have they announced a schedule for when they will start to shutter stores and go slowly out of business- and announce, "We will be strategically closing 350 under performing locations due to shifting consumer Bla Bla Bla..."

Trader Joes and Aldi are part of the same ownership group...should explain the recall commentary
Brothers. They used to be in business together, but had a disagreement over selling cigarettes and went their separate ways.

Now one has Aldis and the other has Trader Joes. So not the same ownership anymore, but same family.

There's one in Westhampton Beach, Long Island... so they are here in the USA. Similar to Aldis, but has bakery and a larger footprint. Also more "Aisle of shame" products..... as devoted Aldis shoppers call the non food aisle.

Wrong on so many levels.

-The Aldi on 466A is the same size as most all of the Aldi stores, and that is by design.

-Inaccessible? It's much easier to get into that Aldi than the WInn-Dixie across the street, unless you are referring to via golf cart. The parking lot is also easier to navigate.

-They can both stay in business simultaneously as long as the WD remains a WD. They cater to different crowds.

I’ve been to one up north. Their model in that store is one manager, one cashier and one general worker so essentially minimal staffing. That’s why prices are so good but you’re correct, they all have similar footprint.

Wow ! Had no idea, thought T. J.'s won that contest a long ago. Most of the peanut butter, ground beef, snack dips, apple juices, lunch meats, etc. etc. recalled seem to be brands OTHER than the ones Aldi carries, but thankfully, you have a lot of choices here, so can avoid Aldi. I find their produce surpasses even the farmer's markets in the area, and the USA raised and slaughtered meat attracts us, but to each their own, we all deserve choices !

Agree ! Do you think the poster may have meant the one on 441, it's small, a bit darker, not quite like the big, bright, large one in Oxford and on 466A. I doubt the 466 at 301 would ever think about closing with the numbers of huge housing and apartment complexes being built there ! But, I don't attend their board meetings...LOL.. so who knows !
