They are going to have to steal my car and take my belongings.

I am pretty sure I can't shoot anybody.

But...............

No one has tried to steal my car or my belongings yet. Ever. Anywhere. In my whole life.

I think a person's past history and happenings around them in their previous areas might color their views on this.

I do support second amendment rights. I just don't feel the need here to own a gun.

yet.

There are some excellent Pepper Sprays etc. on the market. They are legal and effective. We took a course with the Police Dept. in another state. We have a certificate. If someone enters your private space, as in a car jacking, then you hold the spray out and say STOP! THAT IS ALL.
Then do the spray, then you can walk closer and do a backup second spray to guarantee your safety.
There are several brands. Kimber makes an excellent spray unit, powerful, two shots, potent. A big dog attacked me on my bike, in Oregon, lots of big dogs on the run. I got him, the owner ran out cussing, I told him to stop and he stopped. Lucky him.

You can't read a bad guys mind- in Short Hills NJ @ the Mall which is very very high end, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor a young attorney was killed in front of his wife by car jackers who stole his Range Rover--if he had a gun he might be alive

IMHO--if you can, carry--you only get one life no do overs--its not a kids game in the real world--AND you don't take pepper spray to a potential gun fight

That's very sad and your point is well taken, Carried by 6 or judged by 12

Yes, but there are folks who do not want to carry a gun or use a gun.. So Pepper spray may be the answer.
For the ladies, a lot of them are approached by jerks who think they are an easy prey. It is sad they way we are coddling criminals and bringing them in. Well, I did not say take pepper spray to a potential gun fight.

The bump and run ruse is as old as I can remember. Same old technique.....a car behind you with more than one occupant hits you from the rear. In certain neighborhoods you just drive away, as it was not worth the risk to get out of your car. Occasionally they would do it again. Then you hightail it out of there to a safer area. One other thing you learned in those neighnorhoods is never pull up close to a car in front if you, so you can't get hemmed in. A sad commentary, isn't it?

Reminds me of the many years I drove into Chicago from the burbs.
When traveling through sketchy areas, at traffic lights I always left room for an escape route ahead of me,
and was constantly checking the rear view mirrors.
Always made sure the car was in tip top condition.
I felt going through certain areas that it was like flying over a mountain range in a single engine plane,
and you sure hoped that engine didn’t fail!
I think it is wise to be alert even in certain areas of TV,
and the surrounding towns!

We do not leave the house without being armed (my SW Bodyguard .380 and my wife's Glock 27 .40). Incidents like what happened to that lady will not happen to either one of us.

As I railed on so many times until I got tired of hearing rebuttal from the snowflakes, always keep your head on a swivel and be aware of your surroundings; it just might save your life.
