Our neighbor had 17 (no exaggeration) birds and was forced to move after about a year.

I am enjoying this thread immensely as bee-keeping is something that interests me as well. Thanks to the person who started the thread and to those with all the helpful perspective.

I had bees for 7 years and up to 14 colonies. I met some folks who let me use their land. I also was called many times to catch swarms here in The Villages. However, hives are not allowed here in the community of The Villages.

You may want to check with the folks at The Villages Community Garden behind the Woodshop on Rolling Acres, maybe you can partner up with them. Win-Win!

Research bee keeping vs cell towers as your neighbor.

I'm fairly certain that the poster is simply posting a BS post and trying to get responses. I he/she is a REAL beekeeper, then they know that for a hive to thrive it needs plenty of room and flowers very close by. The environment in a typical Villages neighborhood won't support a hive - a real beekeeper would know that.

Cool idea! Might want to get in touch with "the Villages Grown". They have greenhouses and space around them - at least the last time I was there. (Could be a new village there by now, as fast as things are built around here).

I just thought about the insecticides that are sprayed on lawns and the mosquito patrol that sprays neighborhoods. You could lose your hive. Best to find a spot in the country.

In a civil case, the burden of proof is on the plaintiff, or the person filing the lawsuit, to prove their case by a preponderance of the evidence:
What it means
The plaintiff must prove that their claims are more likely true than not. This means that the plaintiff must show that something is more likely to be true than not, such as 50.1% versus 49.9%.

It is more reasonable than not for the bee to have come from next door than anywhere else.

In order to do that, you must first identify the bee that stung you. If you didn't save the bee after stinging you (they die right after the sting), you have no proof it was even a bee at all. It could've been a wasp, or some bee OTHER than a honeybee. Bees and wasps tend to co-exist in the same areas afterall.

I think it’s admirable that you do this. Please check out Green Isle Gardens in Groveland, Fla. It’s about 30 minutes south of The Villages. They are all about the pollinators. I would love to join your club.

Fun Fact our Bees traveled anywhere from 1.5 miles up to 7 miles for certain clovers, trees, and wildflowers. How did we know this, because when you taste honey you know what the Bees collected, and how far those fields were. My experience comes from earlier than 1900s, passed down generations. OP posts that teaching is part of her hobby, your word “REAL” definition isn’t relevant, but Experience works. One can be a novice keeper, yet possess much more information than anyone just reading something online.

Sounds like OP is very New to TV, and asking questions to help make Good Choices and garner important Insights. My guess is your post will give OP understanding that not all poster are here to Help.

OP There are 1 acre homes with accommodations for horses on TV property that could accommodate a colony easily. Plus as mentioned there are sites just off TV perimeter that can accommodate.

Hope your Thread gets you some answers to your questions prior to moving.
