Thank you, BJ's
Be interesting to see how both stores do now.

Based on how often we need to buy gas for our cars and an average fill up (we never let the tank get empty), we'd probably save around $60 in gas by being a member. Since the regular membership fee is $55, we'd only save $5. However, that's only if we had their credit card - which we don't have. So we pay only 40 cents less per gallon rather than 50 cents less per gallon, netting us a loss rather than a savings overall.

This year membership was $25. So we'll save just on gas alone. It's absolutely worth that savings to us since their gas station is only a few blocks from the house.

I can only get 100.00 gas with the BJ's card, at yesterdays discount price just about 24 gallons. I have an Rv, 24 gallons isn't much.

I know coupons are a “marketing tool” and they draw people into their store or on-line. BTW my wife loves to do exactly what your plan is for the day. I don’t care for coupons and would prefer not to have them at all as they waste time. Coupons waste a lot of time for the retail clerks and the people in line behind the person with a lot of them to process. Oh, and the process takes much longer when a couple of the coupons are outdated. I’m thinking to myself why can’t the store just sell for the lowest possible price instead of all that wasted time. That said, patience is a virtue and I did have a couple of marketing courses and I do understand the idea behind all those coupons $$$$$$!

As you get older, the questions come down to about two. How long? And what to do with the time I have left? I guess some like coupons and others would rather spend their time doing something else. Fore!

You are behind the times.
Apparently, you can scan the coupons into your phone before leaving home.
Scan your items with your phone, coupons are automatically applied, pay with your phone.
You never go through the check out line.

We got a Membership for FREE for a year. We also just came back from straightening out a small goof up from a new BJ'S employee. They were supposed to credit our account for every gallon we bought instead they charged us 75 cents per gallon and wrote and signed credit on the receipt.

They are very kind under the circumstances, everyone being new. They were very polite and professional and we really appreciate that. The reality is, that it won't last more than 90 days like that and the Seafood Freezer must have gone bad overnight. It was rough in the store today. Smelled like Deadliest Catch. P-U!

All in all, we are thrilled that the store is there. I wish it was a Costco so I could see what all the Hub Bub is about. Just grateful for the convenience. One more thing, Sam's did do some nice things for us Customer Service Wise over the years but the bottom line is that their screw-ups were way bigger than the nice things they did. Goodbye Sams. BJ'S has Poland Spring Water!

Right now we are members of both Sams and BJ and probably do not need to be members of both. So far very impressed with BJ's but lets see if that will last.

Surprised no pharmacy at BJ's.

One problem with a pharmacy is that you cannot require a membership fee to use the pharmacy. Sam's has a pharmacy, but anyone can come in and use it.
