Being in the business of kids, Blueash, I am sure you agree.

My theory about food quality in TV:

One thing that is unique to TV is the amount of times that people dine out. Unlike other areas where it is a special treat to dine out and hence people are willing to pay more for high quality food, in TV price is king so that people can afford the number of times that they dine out every week. The CCs have to compete based on price or else they will not survive. One key to getting reasonable quality is to never order anything that would ordinarly cost much more outside TV. Steak is an example. If I see a price for a steak dinner that is much more reasonable than I would be expected to pay in other areas, I will not order it since it probably will be inferior quality beef. The old addage "you get what you pay for" is still true.

In my experience, the quality of food at most Villages country club restaurants is similar to that at Applebee's or other middle of the road chain restaurants.
I would not expect to get a good steak there. Pizza, sandwiches, meatloaf, yes. But if you want a good steak, go elsewhere.
P.S. Nancy Lopez is a possible exception to this rule of thumb.

Just had the Breakfeast buffet at Bonifay this morning. For $6.99 you get a great made to order omlet plus sides of everything from bacon (actually crispy) pork sausage, french toast, scramble eggs, fruit selection, potatoes and much more. This omlet, (which can include evereything from sausage, bacon, cheese, onions, hot peprers, green pepers, tomatos, and mushrooms), was very good. When the first omlet line got crowded, they opened up a second line. Unlimited coffee was $2.25 so it came to about $10 per person plus tip. BTW: Service was prompt with the coffee and take up of the plates. Absolutely no complaints on the breakfeast we had at Bonifay today..and we would highly recomend it.

I've done the same buffet twice but never again. I asked guy making omelets if I could have it made with Egg Beaters and he said "yes" and then proceeded to scoop the eggs from the regular eggs he used for everyone. I'm not sure his English was very good. The rest of the buffet was cold potatoes and fruit selection of canalope only. Another in our party choose to have the scrambled eggs from the buffet and said they were cold. $12.00 for that breakfast including coffee and tip was a ripoff.

We had breakfast there a few weeks back...and no complaints from me.

As noted above, the bacon was crispy and since that and eggs are all I really require for breakfast...I was happy.

My wife ordered off of the menu and while I don't recall what she had, she was less than thrilled.

For those eating other than the breakfast buffet, maybe the right type of beverage could enhance the palate?

Like a large glass of.........TV Kool-Aid?

Mallory CC still has veggies and they are sauteed with light seasoning not boiled.

My neighbor called last night and said hey we're going to Bonifay want to join us. Well after reading the latest posts I was doubtful about going. We got there were seated outside, waiter was there right away took our beverage order said I'll give you afew minutes to look over the menu. He came back and took our orders. Food came out in short order , four different entrées and all were very good. Two of us asked for a togo box as they didn't finish their meal. So long story short I'm glad we went and as others have said one bad meal doesn't make for a bad restaurant. JMO
