I think the days of small business, retail shops, are gone or nearly gone. The fact is, they just can't compete with the big shops or the internet. Everyone is looking for a bargain and the best price available. Not only in TV but across the country.

You're right. That means it's time to think outside the envelope.

Where I lived in New Jersey we had a county college that had a special building that allowed entrepreneurs free office space for a year to get a business going. They especially supported high tech.

With 100k people maybe we could each throw in $5 and help support a deli or and bakery's rent for a year in a town square. After a year they would be on their own. https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...ahblahblah.gif

ps As you can see I don't use a lot of emoticons.

What a sweeping generalization. Talk about tarring with a broad brush.
There are lots of respectable and worthy residents in Wildwood.

Yep, it is generalizing. Nothing or no one specifically. Kinda like you tell someone you're from the Bronx. People visualize one thing and they might be right, or very much wrong. There is a section of the Bronx called Riverdale. A good solid middle/upper middle neighborhood. The people in Riverdale never say their from the Bronx, only Riverdale. It is what it is Barefoot. I don't make the rules, I'm just an observer [emoji51]

All I can say is Wildwood has come a long way since we moved here in 09 from Long Island. New businesses have come in, the Shopping Center is cleaned up a few new Restaurants. In case some people don't know even some of the new houses and the Publix Shopping Center are within the Wildwood City limits. Yea as others have said there are bad Apples but guess hat they're everywhere including TV and oh yea good ole Long Island. I to worked with my hands and still do. I even Volunteered with Habitat and built several homes in Wildwood. So yes the area is improving. I shop there often and even use their Post Office, Ace Hardware, Nordic Pawn,The Red Door, Russel Stover, the Bike Shop and before they closed the Old Winn Dixie before it closed. Never had a problem with anybody. JMO

I'm quite sure that God wouldn't be in favor of that plan.
