The new town square is not based on a western theme. My hubby Joe is a Florida "cracker"
which means he was born here. The town square is going to look like the original Florida towns looked when they were covered with cattle and Florida cowboys on them. They used to crack their whips to help move the cattle hence came the nickname "Crackers". Florida actually has a very interesting history. I grew up in WI. so I had a lot to learn becoming a Florida transplant. But I am still a Green Bay Packer Backer fan !!
The town center is supposed to have lots of big oak trees with spanish moss hanging on them like we had in our yard in our our current part of the state Tampa Bay. and Azelas I hear which are beautiful flowering bushes in bloom this time of year as well. They are colored white an dall shades of pink. They love to grow under the big oaks. Hope all is going your way we are right behind you in April.

You might want to get a copy of " A LAND REMEMBERED " which, though fiction, gives the early history of Florida. The book, I believe, is required reading for FL high schoolers. Enjoy!

Default Will Brownwood be open by mid or end of October?

I will be in TV in June for a week. Hurrah! The good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, I would like to come back to TV for another visit mid-October. How close to opening will Brownwood be by mid-October? I could also do an end of October visit. I would really like to see Brownwood this fall.

Schaumburger, I've not see a specific timeframe noted for the opening of Brownwood......just "in the fall".

The latest allusion I've seen or heard was in the most recent "The Building of Brownwood" episode (#3) on TV's web site. At around the 14 minute mark or so in the video, it's stated that they hope to have things punched out in the July/August timeframe "for the grand opening in the fall".

We drove by Brownwood today on the way back from the Wildwood Farmers Market and have to say I liked the view from 44A better than what we've been able to see from the 44 side. Judging by how quickly it's been developing, it wouldn't surprise me if they meet the timeline they've stated!

Hope it would not become too crowded so residents of The Villages would not have the same enjoyment as as Spanish Springs or Lake Sumter Landing - which are also open to everyone but a further distance from Wildwood.
if you go to either square on a weekend night, you will find it full of kids from all outlying areas - Wildwood, Leesburg, Bellview? who knows. No doubt they will flock to Brownwood also. Just because Brownwood is close to Wildwood does not mean there will be any more outsiders/kids than already spend time in the other squares. Let's just enjoy it when it is built!!!

It's worth a drive down to the bottom of Buena Vista to see what's going on -- the movie theatre (big building) now has a mural on the walls.

I'll never tell!

It is credible, though.
