I am one of the few who does believe that.

And they've also been saying for the last 10-12 years that they would never again step foot into Lake County and they haven't. That doesn't mean that some other developer won't buy it either for homes or commercial.

I agree, Gracie; if the Morses wanted the land they would have bought it a long time ago.

I sure wish they would build shopping centers, like those on 441, closer so those South of 466 didn't have to go so far to get to them. Am I being a fuddy duddy or do others feel the same? Where I come from I'm used to driving about 5-7 minutes to get to anything I need. Seems a long way out to 441 from Sanibel. My mind was just thinking......
Were used to driving 40 miles for shopping so the few small stores there are a welcome site. Understand you concern. Wonder if Wildwood will feel the building urge to develop and expand?

Wildwood is already changing. I expect that once the buildout is done Wildwood will be completely different, new businesses, restaurants etc. The new county center/library is just the beginning.

Couple years ago Wildwood expanded the city boundries in all four directions. Smart move by the city fathers.

The only thing that's a cause for concern is that the wildwood city council just changed the zoning of the cattle ranch between tamarind grove and 466a to multi use. Opens the door for almost anything. I'm hoping for a nuclear power plant.

From looking at the Lake County land map it appears to me that it would be very difficult to tie that large property to The Villages so I seriously doubt the Morse family would be interested in it.
I tend to think that property could be prime for a commercial development.

Isn't that where Trailwinds Village is going?

That's a proposal, but it's partly based on grant money, and not cast in stone. If the landowner/rancher gets an offer he can't refuse, it could be anything.

Mike et al, if you go to the pdf link below, you can scroll down to page 98 and reduce it to about 30% if you can. That will give a pretty good view of the plans for the development of the area between Tamarind Grove and 466A as being discussed and according to the document on which it resides.

Below is the link to the town meeting minutes. Wish I knew how to reduce it to the applicable pages. Anyway pages 75 - 108 are pertinent to this project. I found pages 79 & 98 interesting.

I would think that with all the questions that were asked, maybe... just maybe... if shopping was important, a person would build/buy near the shopping. I know that's a silly thought. I'm just a silly kind of girl!

Welcome back Village Girl. Hadn't heard from you for awhile. Were you on a cruise?

Hope your ship stayed right side up.
