Village girl, you are right except for one thing....I didn't see any lots available in TV to build on that was any closer to shopping. If there was, our realtor didn't show them to us. We wanted to build and not buy resale. If we can't get to the shopping, they need to bring the shopping to us!

It’s not just about the distance to shopping areas. It’s also about the growing population and how crowded the shops are. Retail locations on and south of 466a will also cut down on the amount of vehicular traffic travelling through TV to get to the north side. It will be good for all of us, regardless of our location in TV.

Our sales agent told us this week, that there will be a new Villages hospital down off 44, (they just got the go ahead); where there are medical facilities there is usually retail. I don't want to see fast food row, but some retail options would be nice at that end of the community(we willbe inCharlotte).

They have built it. The commercial will come.
Rome wasn't built in a day. The Villages....most of what we see, was done in the last decade. Patience.

Now wait a minute. Folks think Orlando is Disney and most have never actually been to O town proper.
Check online for Baldwin Park (within the city limits) and Winter Park. Both are very nice not to mention numerous other neighborhoods within Orlando and the convenience of everything within a few miles. The problem is its a working town and not much to do for retired people. We actually thought the same about TV; not us, until we visited and realized its hard to judge anywhere without visiting. We will miss it but look forward to out TV move. AND thankfully for us the TV prices are lower than where we are so we can add a pool, cage and summer kitchen for the same money. |

Lets hope it's a slow build if and when it even happens! I am really surprised that TV did not acquire that tract of land?

Which tract of land? If you are talking about the land on the north side of 466A (adjacent to Tamarind Grove), I’m sure that TV would have acquired the land if the owners were willing to sell it to them. I’m guessing that the land owners were holding out for something more lucrative. I’ll be sad to see the cow pastures go, but I suspect it’s going to happen pretty quickly.

Right as it stands now it is half gone.
The lower section of Tamarind Grove is safe from the proposed new commercial park and homes. The 255 page Wildwood documents have this section still zoned as Agricultural. When we bought we knew it would some day go. I figure even if it did a 25 foot mandatory buffer of landscape would be better than looking at someone's Lani. I do enjoy the cows coming down in the evening to graze right next to the house. I'm thinking a salt lick would make me popular and maybe stomp out the Gophers! LOL |
