I believe I have seen him - I recognize the shirt. I live in Mallory. Where in Mallory is there a dog park?

[QUOTE=BostonRich;2062916]This morning around 11 AM my dog and I were attacked at the Mulberry Dog Park by the dog in the picture below. The dog bit my hand and broke the skin in five places.

The cowardly owner just walked out of the park to a golf cart that was driven by another man. The owner and equally nasty friend tried to drive off without giving me any information about the dog or himself. However they were photo captured by witnesses. The cart is a Grayish Yellow (NYS4) Yamaha with the names Janice and Jack on the front.

If anyone can please provide me with any additional information on these two men it would be appreciated. I am told that if I need medical attention I will need to file a police report and they will want the owners information.

You can Private Message me through the TOV site.contact The Villages. They can probably find the person by their names. Also in desperation I would look through the phone book for those names.

Post these photos at the park in a "Wanted" fashion.

Since I have no information on the dog we don't know anything about it's vaccination status. There is a red tag on the dog but it looks very old and the shape may indicate the owner's residence. It really would have been a responsible gesture to simply provide me this information instead of running away unless of course the dog is not properly vaccinated.

By the way, medical clinics are legally required to notify the authorities about any dog bites and they submitted a detailed report. I should be hearing from them shortly. I have received information from people on this board as to who the people involved may be and that will be part of the report.

I do want to say that it is not my intention to hurt the dog . . . period. Owners of problematic dogs know they are problematic and should act accordingly. That dog was not properly socialized and should not have been in the dog park.

Thank you all for your help, support and kind messages. I appreciate it.

P.S. Yes I did get a tetanus shot two years ago.
Thanks for the follow up info. Take care of your hand, I'm pretty sure all the sleuths here will be able to find this guy.

I may have missed this along the way of all the responses, and hers. How did she get bitten? Did she try to pet the dog or did it attack her or whatever? Not that this is substanative but would be good to know....

You need to make a police report and go to Urgent Care for a Tetanus shot. ASAP, this is what your Doctor will tell you. Especially because you know nothing about the dog. This guy is an irresponsible pet owner and should be barred from owning pets. Gee, if we could only do that!!
Keep it clean!!!

You should immediately report this to the county Animal Control office, and the county Sheriff's office. This dog may have a history of biting and is a menace. Regardless if the dog has a prior history it bit you, so it has a history of biting now. The Sheriff's office can use your photos to try and find the owner of the dog. He is liable for the dog biting you and legal action can be taken against the owner. He broke the law by taking off and not providing identification information. You have a very good lawsuit case here.

It is news, so the radio should be interested in it. But, sometimes the need to whitewash our perfect bubble world takes precedence over news.

I assume that a dog could be safely taken to a dog park with a muzzle on them. That would be prudent.

I do believe the village directory list both names of owners, it would be allot of reading, but you may find them via that.
I am glad you saw a Dr, I hope you heal nicely with no complications and, well not for anything, many people have unsocialized dogs, they can be rehabilitated, it's not the dog's fault his clueless owner didn't take him out and about as a pup, which btw he did look to be quite young. I am very happy to read you don't seem to be upset with the dog...but you have every right to be upset with the guy...who has probably spent the last 24hrs waiting for a knock at the door.
Not a good situation for anyone involved...best of luck.

There should be a group watch at that dog park, pictures posted wherever possible of this guy, group watch of the surrounding neighborhood for the cart, all town squares and shopping centers should be watched. Sooner or later this guy will pop out into the open, let’s hope he’s caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law
