Observations:

- As Uncle Leo said on Seinfeld, "I'm old, I'm confused!"

- Flipping the bird at someone at church makes one a very strange Christian,

- I'd bet many of us (me) who drive golf carts more than cars has driven their car in a golf cart lane, especially after making a right or left turn before realizing we were in car not cart???

We saw a Smart Car driving on the golf cart path along 466 by the Palmer golf course. So did the police officer who immediately turned on his flashers and made a quick uturn, heading back to intercept them.

I can't make heads or tails of this one.

This afternoon on I was heading south on Morse from 466. Just before the big bridge I see a sheriff's car on the right side of the road in the grass by the cart path. I am thinking maybe they are running a speed trap or something. Just then I see another sheriff's cart on the cart path right about at the point where the sidewalk ends. The first car is now pulling off the grass onto the street and follows me while the second car pulls into the spot where the first one was parked. I noticed carts on the bridge that noticed the sheriff's cars were going a tad bit slower. The one that was following me made a right turn at the traffic circle and headed to LSL.

Red face Car in tunnel

We were coming home one night late from Katie Bells and met a car that was turning out from under the tunnel on Stillwater heading to Virginia Trace. The lady was very disoriented and said she "Somehow got lost"?????? She finally jumped the curb and got back on Stillwater to be never seen again.....

You really have to be losing some cognitive function to drive on a cart path, and unfortunately in a battle of a 4,000 pound car, all other inhabitants of those paths will lose the battle.

This is a difficult problem all over. Our particular community has a very high average age. Our particular accident is people driving through shop windows, thinking their foot is on the brake when it is on the gas. We have lots of diagonal parking downtown.

It is so hard to take away the keys, and that problem has to be 10 fold in TV, just because of the average age. So my advice, as mean as this seems, take down the tag numbers of people you see driving on paths and report it to the sheriff. Not community watch, but law enforcement. These folks, even though they may be lovely neighbors, will hurt someone or themselves. Think of all the lakes and ponds around the area.
You could be right and often are....HOWEVER...forgetting what vehicle you are driving happens here. I pulled into my neighbors drive to drop her off and ALMOST pushed hard on the brake to park and remembered I was in my car...usually she and I are in the Golf cart together and this time we weren't.

I have had people who are quite o.k. confess that they have turned or almost turned into a golf cart path driving their car.

Gracie I could see making a brief mistake and turning or starting to turn in the wrong place. But many of these stories have described people driving along on paths, or worse yet going through tunnels. I guess for me that would be the dividing line between an oops, and "stop driving the car".

If people with golf carts stopped hitting the poles in the middle of the trails cars would probably not wind up on golf cart paths, just a thought...

Hey, at least the each had a small carbon footprint.
