Unhappy Carpet issues

Bought a new home in the Villages two years ago. Carpet installed by Nickel. Had them re-stretch last year within warranty period. Came down this year and carpet looks horrible like an unmade bed. House was kept at 76 degrees and under 50% humidity, no other issues. Of course out of warranty. Truly disappointed in contractor. Now having most of carpet replaced with laminate. Anyone else have such issues especially with that contractor

Doesn't matter who does install, seems all carpet has issues. We took our carpet out of living room and dining and put in the porcelain tile that looks like wood. Carpet is a losing battle.

We have a humidistat in our 6 year old patio villa no wrinkle issues. Our 4 year old cottage wrinkles in 2 years, no humidistat. 6 year old designer one wrinkle in the spare bedroom, but we only added the humidistat a year ago. Same installer for all three

We have carpet in our three bedrooms as the rest of the home is tile. We replace the carpet about four years ago because of traffic patterns with expensive carpet from Lowes. Neither the cheaper carpet we replaced nor our present carpet has ever wrinkled and has never needed to be re-stretched ? and the newer carpet has not developed traffic patterns yet

Note: I am a Shaw Floors retiree so am somewhat biased on this issue.

The Villages developer has a deal with Mohawk that they supply 100% of the carpet in The Villages. Shaw has tried for years to get into TV but there is a personal relationship that cannot be overcome.

What you typically see in homes here is what is called "builder beige". It will not last long and is designed to keep costs down for the builder.

We bought a spec house in The Villages that had the standard carpet and replaced it entirely with Shaw engineered hardwood before moving in.

We've owned 2 homes (so far) and no carpet issues.
