On this forum, that isn't going to happen. If you want to know something, regardless of how many times is has been discussed before, just ask. Don't be intimidated by those who would banish you to the dismal halls of the search engine. My advice to them would be to not waste bandwith responding to a thread that you object to in the first place.

BTW, it is we who pay for this bandwidth. We have plenty of it and we are willing to share.
Thank you TH you

I am so glad to hear that because many times I have tried to search for something before posting and haven't been able to find the previous posts that "I know I saw" before, and I am sure there are many others too! The problem is that if the words aren't EXACTLY the same as what was in the older messages they won't appear in the searches.

Sometimes it seems that folks just don't understand that they can just ignore the "same old posts" that they see every year - just like hitting the delete key on their email. No one is forced to read every post!

Fair points by both TH and kandj. The search function is imperfect - most are aware of that. Additionally, a number of members are relatively new and thus would have no recollection of having seen some of the prior threads on a particular topic.

If someone's aware of, or is able to find, prior threads on a topic, it would be helpful to the newer posters if a link to those would be posted in the new thread.

JMHO.......FWIW

Excellent Idea Bill-n-Brillo!

This holds true not for just this one thread, but for many others. I can't wait to get back.
