........What will likely happen is that smart people will look at the fact that they can't live in Florida year around due to the summer heat, humidity, and hurricanes. Then, they will look to buy homes in Georgia, South and North Carolina. And they will find those places are probably less costly than Florida is right now.
Never fails...

Well, the map shows all the property TV owns, right? That's what's being claimed...

Hence my reply...

I heard that its called Central Parkway because they are putting the new Katie Belle's, a Costco, and a Chik-fil-A right there. I haven't confirmed this part, but <insert your favorite restaurant> is coming to that same part of the parkway.

That is where I was when I started this thread. Skeptical! Read through the entire thread and you will see it is not a rumor. Some posters attached maps, others spoke of a trial in which Jennifer Parr stated the size of the villages is going to double. Using this information, research it yourself. It is true!

Default The developer's family is originally from Central Lake, Michigan area.

The original developer is from the Central Lake area in northern Michigan. The beautiful area includes Torch Lake, Eastport and located in Atrium County and near Traverse City, Michigan. I am from northern Michigan and therefore have been to these places. The developer used Michigan town, city, county and lake names throughout The Villages.

Nobody is disputing the names come from their hometown. The family has been using "family-related" names for years throughout development. This thread is about the amount of land the developer has purchased...enough to double the size of the Villages. This has been confirmed several times in this thread. Whether it is the reason they renamed the road Central Pkwy may be questionable. However, the development maps provided by a few posters on this thread reveal, without question, that Central Pkwy will be the in the middle of the Villages when the planned construction is complete. If the developer purchases more land, this will obviously change.

I looked up the history of Central Lake in Michigan. It got its name because it is located in the center of a chain of lakes. Not that far-fetched that the family knows this information and is using it the same way in the Villages.

OR - if we are lucky, the oceans will rise so much, that the villages will become ocean front.

I was hearing it over and over by many individuals I consider to be intelligent and not mere rumor spreaders. Good thing I did decide to throw sand into the wind. Turns out, the information is true.

Wasn't asking out of fear. Knowledge is power and I plan to use what I learned wisely when purchasing a newly constructed home. The lottery the salesmen use to convince you that you need to purchase a home quickly or lose out? Not exactly true! I now know the Developer has enough land purchased to build for 15+ more years. Going to take my time and wait for a home I truly love instead of acting on a FOMO sales tactic.

What the heck is the evidence you've used to conclude that the information is true?

It seems obvious to me that the developer is just going to keep expanding until it is no longer profitable to do so. They've clearly bought tons of land AFTER central parkway was planned and it's doubtful that they're just going to stop all of the sudden.

Why do posters keep asking for proof that the developer has already purchased enough land to double the size of the villages? Or, make stupid remarks about how gullible the OP is?

READ THE ENTIRE THREAD. There has been enough information provided in this thread that supports the OP. The map provided by a few posters clearly shows Eastport/Central Lake will be the center of the Villages once the developer's PLANNED construction is complete. There has been no mention of other land being purchased. If there is more land, it also supports the OP. The size of the Villages will be as big as the city of Tampa and Orlando. Or maybe even bigger.

Geez! There is another thread on this site that asks the question: Do you read the thread or just post? Obvious to me, some people just post.

Except, if you actually look at said map, SR 44 in much closer to the geographical center...

As most of us realize it is the geographical center only temporarily.

I'm only going by the map that some are stating is what compromises TV land holdings...

True but anyone living awhile who pays attention knows that the developer keeps certain things close to his chest. I cannot blame him for doing so

Much better post than others who do not read the thread and simply post nonsense. East Port and SR. 44 will someday be the middle of the Vilages. Thanks for your insight. It will be interesting to see when the construction is complete. More amenities at what cost? Like some, concerned about the traffic.
