Default Convert to residential?

My point, new or established, it just won’t matter. Unless you are dealing with food items or the discounted inventory environment, you likely will die on the commercial vine.
That does seem to be a major concern with so much "work from home" happening. Wondering how much of it, if any, could be converted to residential.

Yes, I do think the work from home plan has saved businesses a lot of cash, but it sure has assisted the commercial slide as well. Businesses in The Villages will need to be service oriented like restaurants, grocery, with a touch of textiles and furniture?

The commercial building death could be slowed by residential conversion. Maybe a mall could make nice condos or a mini indoor The Villages up north?

In Colorado Springs, where I just moved from, they tore down an empty anchor store in the mall (an old Sears), and replaced it with apartments that connect to the existing mall. I think you will see this model played out across the country with other malls.

I am not fearful of this change. simply dreading the traffic. I wanted to seek the truth because I am planning on moving to the new area. Now, I am well-equipped with facts to make the best decision possible.

Moved here in 2001 with the hopes the Villages would continue to grow. There was no shopping here then, you had ti drive to Leesburg or Ocala. I love how big it's grown. Sure I miss the surrounding farmland and oak covered 2 lane 301, but all in all I love whatsavailable to us all here now and see it getting even better as we continue to grow. I was 46 when we retired early and moved here and am 68 now, so hopefully I'll be around for another 23 years or more to see it all grow. We live in an amazing place, not perfect, but amazing never the less.

Default Jennifer Parr said it

In one of her videos about 2-3 months ago, Jennifer Parr stated exactly that. I was flabbergasted that the villages would actually make that statement, but she did!!!!

I did hear in a Villages video that Central Parkway will be the middle of the Villages someday , I would just need to search around to find the exact video.. 🤔

There is a factor that could change those future predictions. The Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean around Florida are at record temperatures. Also, most parts of the planet. Scientists predict increased HEAT around the earth for at least 8 years due to fossil fuel use and population increase.
........What will likely happen is that smart people will look at the fact that they can't live in Florida year around due to the summer heat, humidity, and hurricanes. Then, they will look to buy homes in Georgia, South and North Carolina. And they will find those places are probably less costly than Florida is right now.

Why would anyone think that the Morse family has not bought land in other names than their own. Smart people that they are sure they buy land using shell companies.

Who knows how much land they really own? Only the shadow knows and he aint talking.
