As far as golf cart speeds go, I have one that goes 31 downhill. Yes, it was tuned by Plowman. No, I do not keep or use it in The Villages, it is at the lake in Tennessee. I no longer drive it at its maximum capabilities.

For the most part, we have all grabbed the prize. We have all made it to retirement. I am enjoying mine heartily! The surest and quickest way for that to come to a crashing halt is a traffic accident. I have come to realize (although it took many decades) that speed is unimportant. If it takes me an extra hour to get back "up north" then so what, I arrive alive and healthy as opposed to the delay an accident muchless an injury would cause.

Same philosophy for when we go golf carting around. So I get to Dunkin' Donuts 50 seconds later than I could have. I miss out on a parking space? So what - I just park further out. I'm not on the clock, I'm not late for anything, I won't miss out on anything by taking my time - except maybe I miss out on an emergency room visit.

YMMV

Go to about minute 1:58 of the video. Not dedicated indoor pickle, but an indoor gymnasium, that can have basketball, volleyball or indoor pickleball
Okay, I see it. 6 courts in a shared, multi-use gym... Good luck getting one one of them...

Default Adjustments are necessary

Rule of law is necessary but we must adjust to those things which are different than our personal beliefs and live and let live.
We Villagers are fortunate to age in Florida. Younger Villagers adjust to slowness and different limitations to older. An example is some of the slow slow driving and apparent lack of awareness by some who, likely and maybe, shouldn’t be driving any longer. Another is being in a Rec Center with someone who coughs and shares their illness in a small area without respect to other’s health.
Tolerance, mutual respect, ability to have differences yet live in peace would go a long way in helping society.
Perhaps those who give tolerance to the apparently confused driver who misses seeing a car…….or those, seeing a older person who needs help with their yard or groceries, even if help given by a ‘liberal’, can help us bridge our differences and find our sameness.
But ‘Rule of Law’ must exist, no one is special, we must abide within certain guidelines. And things change, always have, always will.

My discussion was based on the OP. There are many younger residents with AirBnbs and investment properties. My point is..things change frequently in the Villages. Today's "best homes" become yesterday's news. The area with the new town square along with the 3 championship golf courses will be the next "best homes." Until something else comes along. It has been this way since Spanish Springs was built. There will always be something new and improved. You have to be on your toes if you have investment properties. You can lose as easily as gaining. When LSL was built, there was a HUGE DEMAND. The largest demand I have witnessed since living in the Villages. After a few years, it crashed. Ups and downs happen in real estate.
Demand for LSL has "crashed"?

Seems like it's still quite desirable to me...

I was talking about the early 2000's when LSL was being built. Demand for the homes was off the charts. In 2007/2008, it crashed. Homes, even new construction, lost value. There have been many ups and downs in the Villages. The housing market does not stay stable.

Just wondering. If a golf cart governor was set for the lower limit of 25 MPH how long would it take to bake the engine and have to be replaced?

2007-2008 was a National housing crash. It was not specific to TV...

Don’t fret , the next generation are
going to have to pay a heavy price due to the enormous national debt and printing of money that we benefited from .

That describes FL exactly - as it is and always has been down here.

Big shift from the yankee and puritan mindset up north.

We first purchased in 2006. Frankly, I have not seen much change in people as they moved in year after year. The big change is we were among the youngest residents and now we are among the oldest.

The Police should do spot checks for golf carts with altered top speeds. The gas carts that can go over 20 MPH should get large dollar tickets. Police are responsible for SAFETY and golf carts with higher speed just encourages too much aggressive passing.

Lower top speed should make a cart last longer than with a "jacked up" governor.

One of the better replies. Even kinda funny.
