Oh and for your information, what she is doing during the announcement is signing the rules and regs to the hearing challenged in the group.
Some people..............

I'm sorry, but that is not correct, she is not signing....she is making allot of jesters that are confusing..in fact, at first I thought she was drunk.
Again...absolutely not signing...trust me.

How do you know that he is not being helped? Don't you wish you could be that free. Dance like no one is watching. Do you feel the same way with little kids who dance that free?

Wow, old folks sure complain a lot. Hope I don't get like that when I reach my '80s in a few years. I thought this was Disney World for seniors. That's what I was told. If one can't have fun here when they get old, where can they go? The grave yard?

What happened to the "waterbottle lady" that used to dance solo at the square?

I can understand that the powers-that-be would be cautious to intervene regarding most of his behaviour, but the screams in my opinion cross the line. They are so loud and blood curdling that they are a distraction to the music and, especially if nearby and unanticipated, they are startling and even a bit scary.

Maybe everybody but me thinks it's cute. Again, part of me has sympathy for the gentleman. His dancing alone would likely be just another curiosity at the square. But I simply don't think the extreme part of his antics...the screaming...should be tolerated.

Okay. I've vented.
He’s here taking care of his mother who fell and broke either one or both hips. He is exuberant with the music on the square, but who ain’t depending on the band. Nice guy. Anyway I’ve seen a lot wackier at SS some evenings! When he leaves the square he goes home to take his mom for an evening therapy walk. Security knows all about him. And you know the saying, “Everyone’s weird, except you and me, and I’m not so sure about you!”

OK, I get it. You don't like me yelling two, three, four? I'll just stay home from now on then!

And yeah sometimes he'll get a little over-enthused with certain songs and do the "one two three!" loud enough to be heard on the other side of the square. The baton was given to him by a fan. The largest thing in his backpack is a gallon of water, which he pours into a cup and drinks from while he's there.

He comes almost every night, and says that his dancing is how he keeps fit (and it you'd actually get a look at him - he's very fit).

Most people just assume he's a little crazy and avoid him but some folks actually take a few moments out of their lives to talk to him and learn better.
I thought he was called, "dancing Dave"? I have sensitive hearing and even sometimes at the beginning of a movie at a theater, they turn up the sound for ice cream ads, etc. - so I pop in some earplugs for a while. I would suggest that for the thread starter person. Something that bothers me (but I would NEVER complain about) is children crying - something about the high frequencies. Note: I guess children's crying must be or has been an positive evolving mechanism for early humans But, that IS just a speculation on my part?

We can all pretty much agree, there is more going on with the gentleman. However, he's not hurting anyone, he's having fun, we all are entertained for sure, good or bad. My thoughts, tolerate and have compassion, and be grateful, you STILL have all your wits about you. We are ALL heading in the same direction, someday or sooner. Lets hope, others will have "tolerance" with US, when our minds begin to fail, and it will. Our odd behavior, confusion, ... pls dig deep in your heart, and say a prayer for this poor sole.. He does still look young, could of had a stroke, who knows what happened in is life to trigger this behavior. I'm sure he is under doctors care. Compassion can go a long way... you be the better person.

I know who your talking about (and I get it)... seen her for years.... have to tell you... had the "pleasure" of having a class with her. (my first thoughts... oh Lord !) but then Waterbottle Lady, opened her mouth, and flowers came out. What a truly lovely girl she is. We are all , just trying to survive and be happy at this point of our lives.. She really is a sweet, kind, soft spoken and most of all a LADY.

Mental health has long been shuttered to a back closet in this country...something to be whispered about but not discussed in the open. Time to provide the funds needed to properly care for those with mental illness rather than just letting them roam the streets.
I don't have an opinion on dancing Dave or Marc's mental health. I do agree that more $ should be budgeted for mental health. And it should be socially better accepted for someone to SEEK help. I can think of a few on this forum that could use some screws adjusted.

You can’t keep an eye on the murderers that come to Spanish Springs kill our youth
and get away with it. I would bet that if Mark was there that night that Brice and Metcalfe murdered Austin Stevens the later would be alive today. Don’t go.
I would be curious about THAT murder. I am NOT aware of it?

Look it up. Brice Hall of Weirsdale and Nicholas Metcalfe of Belleview, both 19.

Stevens was the victim. I guess you MISSED that one.
