We refer as our son or daughter. Since either of them in their 30s and 40s can afford a house here and a house in another state, they don't need to live with me. Your reference of children for me as one who are school age, my daughter has children, but soon to be young adults. So is you children question under 18 years old? or how many money savvy young adults live here because they can.

"Children" over age 19 are considered adults and can live in TV. I am not aware of any stats on how many actually live here because I don't care. If adult children are living in The Villages I am sure their parents have a good reason for it. I understand how to reply to a question if someone asks me how many children I have. I have two. Thanks. By your generic use of of the word "children" it does beg further questioning. You use children and adults as synonymous. Answer How many children enlist in the Army? I would say none. You would say anyone over age 19 is still considered a child so children can enlist in the Army. You would also say having sex with a 19 year old is having sex with a child, based on your use of "children". Case open... My guess would be children or adults over the age of 19 living in TV would be less than .5%. Population is just over 118,000. This seems to be the exception and not the rule in that almost all children/adults, are self sufficient.
Some people take care of their children/adults because they may have special needs of financial problems and are trying to get their life in order. Fortunately, compassion never goes out of style. IMHO

Our sons have come here to stay many times, and would never turn them down. Our oldest two are doctors, and have considered moving here full time, only reason they would stay with us is to find a house in TV that was the right fit for them. Ya know pool or no pool, course view, or water view. But if for some tragic turn of life I would never turn our sons away. Now our daughters sense of humor is a combination of both of us. That could be a challenge.

There have been quite a few posts on adult children and, as we all know, there is nothing to stop them from moving in with parents or buying a home of their own in The Villages.
We also all know that minor children cannot live here according to Deed Restrictions. How does this affect either long or short term renters? Who checks to see if renters have minor children with them? I remember a thread of a few years ago that talked of school kids were living in The Villages on the historic side. The thread even had photos of kids beings picked up by school busses at Villages gates. |

Yes there are children living in the villages, school age children. We live on the old side and there was a whole family living with grandparents for over two years. The Village developers put up a beautiful home right next to them and it wasn't long after that, that the family was gone. It is unfair as I believe you can rent to whoever and they can have children. They can not be throw out if they have a lease signed in good faith. So yes renters can have little children in their houses but owners are only suppose to have for 30 days. The way around this is just to say you babysit them for the day.
