Were their church services in the building? Could you get married there?

For many years, The Church on the Square was used for services on Sunday mornings.
Pastors of various religions in the area would take turns officiating.

Yes, to both questions

Here are some photos of a wedding which took place in The Church on The Square. (scroll down all the way to see interior shots. -- very beautiful)

The Village Voices performed at The Church on the Square (non-denomination) for several years as well as many other performers.

everything about the squares is "made up" as far as history is concerned, such as the old labels on the various buildings, so it would be natural for a spanish village to have a church building....for those of us who remember enjoying many nice performances there, it does not make a difference that it still looks like a church...i for one like it.

chachacha is right. Remember that Spanish Springs was built to look like an old Spanish settlement. Complete with a town square, a hotel (Van Patton House aka Katie Belle's), Taverns (McCalls), and as any old Spanish square, it would not be complete with out a church on the square. This is "Disney-esque" with stories and folklore that you can see on he small signs scattered throughout Spanish Springs. The "Hotel" never was a hotel, but added to the overall atmosphere.

I think the same of the Church on the Square. It has been used for worship services, but now it's function has changed. But it remains "the church on the square" to provide the old town feeling.

Like any change, some people are happy about the change in it's function, others are not. The only sure thing in life is change. Gotta go with the flow.

"The Sharon" looks fabulous and still completes it's function as the "Church on the square", by providing the beautiful Spanish detail.

Default What did Jesus think?

I doubt if God cares. I can and do get religious feelings mostly outside seeing God's marvels in a sunset or mountain.

I love the great cathedrals of Europe but these more often than not reflect the hubris of the Kings and Queens who fought wars to build them.

I am really puzzled about that title. I am so behind what is going on sometimes.

But it made my ears perk up.

I may be too old to understand.

You made me Google, and in doing so, made me once again give thanks for being old and nearly done.

So, what is boudoir photography exactly?

Boudoir photography is a sexy new trend that's especially popular as a wedding day gift from a bride to her groom . Boudoir photos are usually taken wearing either just a little, or well, nothing at all. They're hardly X-rated though, but rather PG-13 -- as in classic pinup-inspired pics, or what the pros call 'implied nudes.' That means you're not wearing anything, but you're also not showing off anything either (think shot from the back, or lying on your stomach).

Perhaps the Moderator should get you people back on the subject of thread or cancel it. I didn't start it to see all this jiberish; just wanted to know why the Performing Arts Center has a Crucifix on top of the building.

Guess I should have clarified who that was for, however, if I had it would have been deleted!
