No matter what he claims he drank, he certainly wasn't served all that at City Fire. They have cameras at City Fire and they have viewed the tapes !!!

Maybe do you think he was over served --- bottle of wine , six beers, four shots of JD - even if they did not serve him all of the drinks - he should not have been anything - 2AM what give with city fire - do they need the business that much ---I know it does not say he was served but if he was--- city fire should lose their license -- wasnt city fire where the couple that had sex on the stage were drinking before the incident --- close all bars at 11pm ---i will not let my wife walk on the sidewalk by city fire --- it is like a meat market -- yes 5- 10 guys with baseball caps stare everyone down
The couple that had sex did not do it on the stage. They were at the covered area by the water. They were at a couple of places that night, not just City Fire.
City Fire closes at midnight. Last call is about 11:30 so why should City Fire lose their license if someone is being an idiot at 2:00 am ?
It was a City Fire employee who called the police and went outside to help.
You won't "let" your wife walk on the sidewalk ? I'm there all the time. Never seen those 5 - 10 guys with baseball caps staring at anyone.

Actually, that Italian restaurant just a few doors down is the establishment that named a drink after the notorious couple on the Lake Sumter stage.

I'm not sure how you come to this conclusion.
City Fire is such an awesome place and they help so many people.
My daughter had a house fire a few years ago in Summerfield. Her and my grandson lost everything they own including a couple of their kitties. City Fire was right there doing a fundraiser and taking up collections for them.
When one of their employees was in a devastating car accident, they were right there. Told him no matter how long it took to get well, he always had a job there.
They have raised thousands of dollars for charities such as Breast Cancer, our Veterans, Wounded Warriors, Tips for Cops and so many other great charities.
They are very community orientated and really care.
Sorry to hear of your daughters lose - glad to hear of city fire did a fund raiser for people in need.

Thank you so much.
Yes, they are awesome caring people. They arranged an apple bobbing contest, collected items for them and took up a money collection. Also the Band of Brothers that meets there on Tuesdays and Thursdays took up a collection.
It meant so much to us.

You obviously have never been inside City Fire Sumter Landing if you call it low-end. It is a very classy, very busy place with great food and great entertainment. The people who frequent it are like family, especially the Band of Brothers group. Its the perfect place to go if your feeling lonely and missing family because once you go through those doors, you are part of the family.

I am there quite often, probably 4 or 5 times a week and I would not call myself "low end" nor have I ever seen anyone there who fits that title and many a night, I am there at closing and have not seen any low end people.

We accept your apology.

Re the topic...stuff happens and more stuff happens in bars. You cannot carry a weapon into a bar for a good reason.
I dislike CFire because the atmosphere feels sleazy, and it has dark haunties in spirit.

Apologies to anybody with different viewpoint. No personal offense...just diff strokes..

So their charitable not cover for their clientele

I don't understand, Karostay. Most people drink alcohol and some enjoy gathering to drink alcohol. City Fire is a gathering place. Many of us have at one time or another enjoyed a little drinking and chlling...or a lot of drinking and chilling.

We've been there and done that and have the teeshirt. Some folks are still enjoying the lifestyle and most are responsible and know when to stop so their behavior doesn't embarrass themselves, endanger people on the road and cause problems.

I don't know why you think the folks at City Fire are to blame for this. People have choices and drinking alcohol is not illegal.
That kid probably got boozed up and went there.

They have a great clientele. We have been going there 3 - 4 times a week since it opened as Urban Flats in July 2007. Most of the people there have been regulars for many years and are awesome people and many of them good friends of ours.

We like going to City Fire as well. They have good food and really nice staff. The reason the patio and bar area is usually so crowded is because it is such a fun place and at a good location to hear the music and socialize. All those "men in ball caps?", perhaps you should read what is printed on those caps before you run to the other side of the street. They are probably the Band of Brothers veterans organization. As others have pointed out, they meet there twice a week. Very fine fellows. They'd probably be the first to come to your side if you needed help. To call it a meat market or low end establishment is offensive to all of the good people who go there.

As one of the low end patrons, we are looking forward to going to the Brownwood location when we are fortunate enough to return mid month.

I was unable to open the link and I can only respond to what I read on the threads. My confusion is the fact the restaurant was closed, 2 hours later, a drunk was arrested outside of City Fire. How is City Fire responsible for his sobriety? Two hours lapsed after the bar closed.

I respect the opinions of those posting on this forum. The thread concerning judging by one's appearance were opinions. The original post on this thread, in my opinion, was generalities at best, and out and out defamation of a restaurant due to simply being in a location where a drunk was arrested.
