Having said that there are only two ways that you can get people to do something. This include everything. You can present a reasonable reason why they should do it, or you can use force to make them do it.

Being bigger than you if I wanted you to do something, I have to use either one or the other of these methods. Now to even the playing field, Samuel Colt made us all equal no matter our size.

Current world events could change you mind quickly. Our founding fathers insured that, WE THE PEOPLE, would always have a way to protect ourselves, the 2d Amendment.

There is no such thing as GUN CONTROL, its PEOPLE CONTROL. Just see how well it worked for Hitler, Moa, Pol Pot, and Stalin.

Gun control actually means being able to hit your target where you are aiming.

I know that most likely you will never change your mind, but do away with the 2d Amendment and the othe 9 in the Bill of Rights are meaningless.
Gun control means using 2 hands.

The avatar is not a Colt, its an STI, 1911 45 ACP (Automatic Cocking Pistol) and it is used ony for competitive shooting. Lots of work and tuning has gone into the firearm. It the same as calling all AR 15s, Assualt Rifles, it actually comes from the ArmaLite name, IE., AR, of which there are many makes and models.

Assualt Rifles are made to fire at least 3 round bursts with each trigger pull, some are completely automatic and will fire until the ammunition source is empty.

Law abiding citizens can still own a fully automatic firearm, but you have to fill out tons of paperwork, get approval by the local sheriff, pay a $200 tax stamp, go through a Class III FFL dealer and then if you can find one made prior to 1986, at a very infalted price go for it. You also have to agree to have your storage area inspected by the BATFE to insure that you are in compliency with Federal storage requirements. Then the real expense starts, buying the ammo. You can go through lots in a very short time.

I have never felt the need to own or go through all the hassal of get an automatic firearm. To me its just a waste of time, money and ammo.

By the way, Handman, I have not fired a shot in anger since January 1968, when Saigon was over ran by the NVA during the TET Offensive. I chose to carry the same as you chose to have auto insurance. Just because I carry does not mean I want to shoot someone, just the same because I have auto, homeowners insure, I am not going to go get into a wreck or burn my house down just to use it. Just like a Boy Scout, always be prepared.
