There is no mystery to the requirements for mass distribution.
It is done every day for much of what we rely upon to live (as we do) day to day.

I know someone will profess why the vaccine is different...it has known characteristics to apply to the distribution requirements.

The mystery is how does such a high profile program get launched if the system and pipeline are not in place?
Or if in place why stopped after one week?

You are very lucky. I registered on Tuesday and never received an email with a code for an appointment. Then, they ran out of the vaccine. I don't think they were going by the date and time of registration to prioritize. I'll bet others who registered on Tuesday or even Wednesday received their vaccine. I would love to know if that is the case with any of you out there?

The post I was replying to stated: As far as I know, there is no special provision for people with a pre-existing medical condition. I was updating that poster's knowledge with the data from our State's website. I have no idea how easy or difficult it would be for someone to get an authorization based on a pre-existing medical condition, I was only pointing out that there is a provision for that.

I'm pretty sure you will need a doctor to sign the documentation as I have not yet seen a hospital building hold a pen. Perhaps it needs to be a doctor with a practice within a hospital that is holding a supply of the vaccine, but it will still be a doctor.

vac•cine văk-sēn′, văk′sēn″►
n. A preparation of a weakened or killed pathogen, such as a bacterium or virus, "or of a portion of the pathogen's structure" that upon administration to an individual stimulates antibody production or cellular immunity against the pathogen but is incapable of causing severe infection.
So, yes, it IS a vaccine.

Actually, the priorities are all wrong. Here is what they should do and why:

The best way to not die from Covid19 is not to be immune to it, but to not get it at all. So, they should have mobile vans that drive around to bars and restaurants to vaccinate people in crowds and people not wearing masks.

Think of it - you are not going to get Covid from me as I cower in my home, go out infrequently, and always wear a mask. The person who is going to kill you is the irresponsible turkey who thinks the science of viral transmission does not apply to him. So, our number one priority for vaccination should be -- vaccinate stupid and irresponsible people first. :-)

Our oncologist is holding off on the vaccine. When dose should be given, it will be done in infusion lab, so patient can be monitored for 3 hours. Not 15 minutes. In my mind oncologist is where I want advice should come from.

I also registered on Tuesday and was confirmed but have only have received a text and email letting me know the program was halted until more vaccine is available.

Unless you are in healthcare, the state’s rollout is for 65 and over

Agree.
And that is why my husband and I decided to wait for our vaccine, even though we are over 65. I also realize some can't wait because of health.
The good news, my sister who lives outside D.C. was not getting her vaccine untill march is now scheduled for next week. Must have gotten a big shipment in.
Stay safe everyone.

Our neighbors to the north funnel a lot of money into Florida's economy and they actually pay taxes, either directly because they own property here, or indirectly because they've rented a place for 3 to 5 months.

I believe the Governor made the right choice....yes, a few people will 'game' the system....

Any seasonal senior living in Florida should be able to get the vaccine if they choose to...makes no difference whether they are from Ohio, NY, Canada anywhere else

we all need to come from a place of abundance, not from a place of fear or selfishness

remember we're all on this road called life together...and in the end none of us get out alive!

Here is an interesting fact:
5% of the population is talking to a pharmacist about the Covid-19 so called vaccine
21% are talking to there doctor
51% are getting the information from the TV......oh boy
23% are getting the information from social media

That is very scary to me that only 26% of the population is talking to the professional
Before you jump on the shot wagon, ask questions to your pharmacist after all they are really the only ones that understand the components in the shot.
How about because it works:
