Excellent! Same holds true with grandpa letting the 5 and 6 year old grandkids drive the golf carts all over the place. I saw one tonight that made me stop dead in my tracks. Kid driving wasn't anymore than 5 years old, Grandma in the passenger seat HOLDING a toddler and a teenager hanging off the back...driving through Spanish Springs!!!

Stupid people do stupid things and ruin it for everyone!!

I say IF the Parents or Grandparents can't watch and control their kids or grandkids they should loose their guest pass privileges. Why should we who live here loose things because of a few lazy loafing people. My granddaughter comes and tows the line or doesn't come again period. JMO

Unfortunately...wait a minute.....FORTUNATELY the parents or grandparents might not live here in TV and thus sanctions like revoking their guest pass privileges wouldn't apply.

Lifting the kid onto the statue for a picture is one thing.....but trying to suck unearned, unneeded, punitive money from property owners by slapping them with lawsuits is a malignancy metastasizing thru this society.

Removing the statues would be THE LAST STRAW!!

Yes, they are the same useless, stupid parents who bully teachers and school administrators with lawsuits, driving the best ones to quit and get out of education completely.......

So the inmates can run the asylum.

How about a small signs which would read ... "Climbing on and falling off statues, do at your own risk. The Villages not responsible for your brain malfunctioning."

If we're going to remove the cowboy statue, then we better remove the cattle statues too- I have seen photographs with adults and children alike sitting on them. It won't be long probably before somebody falls off of one of them and gets injured. Or perhaps they will be silly enough to try to climb on the metal sculptures and burn themselves because they're really hot when the sun is shining on them. Should we remove anything and everything that a child may injure himself on? What about the fountains? A child could climb on them and fall... Maybe we should just do away with the nightly entertainment as well. A week or so ago while at Brownwood while watching Snapshot, I noticed quite a few young children unattended on the dance floor. One small child was following behind the singer, who was out walking around the dance area. The singer backed up, tripping over the young girl and they both ended up on the ground. Fortunately nobody was hurt- but does that mean we should eliminate entertainment? No- it means... as they always say... Parents and GrandParents, please... do not leave your children unattended. Keep them out of harm's way... and from causing harm. And bring the Cowboy back!!!!!

Could you tell us who told you that the statue was being removed?

Was just telling my husband about this post and he said it is already gone. They were removing the concrete around its base this afternoon.
This was the statue located by the stage in Brownwood, I believe it was suppose to be Mr. Schwartz. Heard the cost for that statue alone was $50,000.
As my husband said, the steps on the bleachers are dangerous, will they tear that out the first time someone gets hurt on there and what if someone trips and fall on a curb, will they remove all the curbing next?

To the people whose kid climbed on the statue and broke his arm: Gee folks, I'm really sorry your vacation was ruined. Too bad. Maybe you'll learn to keep an eye on your children.

This would be unfair if it happens and the gorgous horse and cowboy is removed. Unfortunately, as a paralegal and a person with a year or so of law school I know what legal obsticles and liability (not to mention lawsuits) the villages can face. However, I still wish they can keep Brownwood intact as envisioned.

"To be run out of town on a rail was to literally take a 4x4 fence post, make the person straddle it (by literally thrusting him onto it), boost it up about five feet into the air (usually on the shoulders of a group of men) and march (jostled and bumped as much as possible) to the edge of town and dump him with dire warnings not to return.

After that kind of "man handling" you weren't in a hurry to retaliate and if you could you limped away, assuming tarring and feathering wasn't involved."

What does run out of town on a rail mean
