I heard it from a Community Watch employee today. I was hoping he heard wrong, but unfortunately it looks like he was right.

Yes, let's get rid of the stadium seating at Brownwood because a kid might tumble down the steps. Let's get rid of the pools because a child might be injured or worse. Heck, just pad all surfaces with rubber so nobody gets injured. And of course, no more golf carts, you know how dangerous those can be!

Crazy!!!!!

And don't forget the dangerous pickleball courts. I've seen kids out there playing by themselves, and playing with adults. Not safe! I've seen kids playing bocce ball by themselves, and they send those balls flying out of bounds. Danger!!! Where do you draw the line? At a $50,000 statue?

This was the statue located by the stage in Brownwood, I believe it was suppose to be Mr. Schwartz. Heard the cost for that statue alone was $50,000.
As my husband said, the steps on the bleachers are dangerous, will they tear that out the first time someone gets hurt on there and what if someone trips and fall on a curb, will they remove all the curbing next?
I hope this story appears in the Daily Sun, so the masses of residents here know and make a huge outcry about this.

And why is it not "enough" for the medical bills to be paid by the property owner and/or his insurer????

Removing the statues would be THE LAST STRAW!!
Well then IF they're not from TV they should be told to leave the square or property until they can behave period.

Someone here (or several "someones") should write letters to the editor of The Sun re: this. More folks read that than this site I'd wager. Might make some waves to the affirmative for a change!!!

Good idea, but first we need some factual info from a named source so we're writing about a factual situation.

That's what I'd like to see in the Daily Sun. It's time sensible people stand up and speak for common sense.....and an end to lawsuits, trial lawyers and courts determining what is placed on private property.

The Villages tries to create a nice, inviting place for residents. Then some parents or grand parents aren't watching a kid and he falls off. I guess if the mother or father can't watch their kids go back up north and live on the Bronx. Stupid people should not breed

So upsetting to learn that little by little some of the beautiful features of TV have to be removed due to stupidity of those who should be held responsible for their stupid actions. Again, the select few who refuse to use common sense, refuse to say no to the little darlings and continue to set very poor example. Why else would we still see those well underage golf cart drivers with the so called adult in the passenger seat who I've got to believe are fully aware of the rules but refuse to abide by them. Wish somehow that cart was stopped & ticketed.

I'm willing to bet that within two years either all of the cow statues will be removed or so fenced off all the beauty will be gone. I remember a lawsuit that occurred over 30 years ago -- a teenager was going to break into a school via a skylight. He fell through the skylight and was severely injured. His family sued the school district (attractive nuisance) and won several million dollars. People should take responsibility for their actions. It's a shame they don't and it's a shame that the law frequently backs them up.

Maybe since Brownwood is the Old Wild West there should be a Sheriff and Gallows should have been installed. Problem solved, hang um high. Just Kidding.

I guess it's not a rumor. I heard it too from management in Community Watch !

What a shame that people let these grandkids do whatever they want and ruin it for others.

I am an old person. I have lived here for six years. I think we all have a lot of time on our hands. I would never dream that I would be arguing about religion on other threads. Did I say we have too much time on our hands and we read too much into almost everything around here?

I am frequently wrong...but to old Graciegirl...this whole things smells like a rumor.

But....if grandparents continue to act like they have no sense...it could be real.

People kept pesting the new mama buffalos and jumping fences to get them all mad.

We have no buffalo now and we could be losing the cowboy. What next?

Based on this subsequent post quoted above, 'eyes on the ground' say this is not a rumor, but, is happening.

Unfortunate... that cowboy statue had a lot of character and fit nicely into the paddock square design. I hope they find a nice, protected place to move it to. It does make you wonder/worry how they will protect the cattle statues at the entrance to Brownwood.
