Just use any ant bait with a boric solution as the main ingredient. Terro is one. Some come in bait traps you place near the ant trail. I put dots of terro near the trail forbthem to take backe to queenie.

It is a PLAN with no significant brain-if you can think of it that way. I seem to recall reading that an ant can lift over 6x it's weight-no human can do that.

There is the nest built to support and house the queen. The queen is fed by the workers, and protected by specialized fighters. The queen is a pregnancy mill turning out the thousands of ants that you see. To get rid of them, you need to kill the queen. Unlike in chess, the queen herself kills the king.

That mentioned liquid from Walmart? In days of old it would have been a mixture of arsenic and sugar. They never explained why in old murder mysteries arsenic was the commonly used poison. I think it is no longer sold BUT if your food tastes like almonds, someone close is looking to collect on your insurance or does not know how to spell ant-aunt
Uh, oh.........

Chi, I had no idea! I thought our OP was just using 'crazy' as an adjective for some pizzants that were driving him crazy.

BUT your post made me curious so I did a little entomological research and !

I found an article titled "The Rise of the Crazy Ants" along with a magnified picture. It was hideous! Hideous! I tell you, HIDEOUS!

I learned that crazy ants are not only crazy but they are tough. They rumble with fire ants and win! Entomologists have observed that crazy ants produce an antidote that they rub on themselves before they battle with fire ants.

And that stuff you said about invading electronics is all there in the article, too. They also nest in pipes and the inner workings of cars.

The article says they are native to Argentina and Brazil but made their way to Texas and have been moving right along. They don't fly. They are stowaways.

Well, that is probably more than anybody wanted to know about these creatures. But if you are still reading this post and you want to know more -- or just want to be totally creeped out -- google crazy ants and Scientific American and you will find the article that was my source.

And, OP, you might want to think about calling an exterminator.

That being said, you have a couple of choices. When you buy ant traps, check the ingredients. (snipped) Just put a few drops on a piece of just about anything -- a small piece of whatever, maybe 2" x 2" in size. By the next day. they're gone!

Please be very careful when using poisons or ant traps if you have dogs or cats.
Our Pest Control Company knows we have two dogs, and they treat for ants with that in mind.
We don't know the difference between types of ants because we're not
entomologists.
Our Pest Company is familiar with every type of ant and treats accordingly.

You are right.
When we have an ant problem, we put the ant traps or Terro out of the reach and view of our pets.

Thanks for mentioning this!
